Yeah, Stanley (Stanley T. Behr) was a LOT of cat. And he wasn't overweight, either. Just a really, really BIG Boy. And the sweetest thing, of course. His homey/idol was Alfie (Alfredo No-Nose Fettuccine, the Gangsta Cat from Red Hook), the blue-point Himalayan, who weighed in a 1/3rd of his weight. Alfie was the head-cat wannabe, but never managed to get a promotion.

Only two of them regularly slept on my bed -- Priscilla, the seal-point Siamese head cat, and Harold, the beautiful red tabby Maine Coon. Though all of them slept on my lap, by twos and threes, whenever I sat down. Well, except Meep - she was a Tortie-point Himalayan who didn't DO lap. Except once a year she'd jump up and settle for maybe 2-3 minutes, then jump back down. Just long enough to let you think she was going to turn into a lap cat.

Sigh, I miss them all. Life was never dull with 6 cats running the house.

I miss her. She's only been gone for six months.
Well, most of them smell that way, but they won't touch ANY of them since the Hartz brand changed its formulation. These are the main petrolatum-based brands: Drs. Foster and Smith Hairball Remedy, Felaxin, Kat-A-Lax, Lax'aire, Laxatone.

And trust me...every single one, and every possible flavor, has come and gone through this house. I give the opened and unused ones to a local no-kill shelter. They know me well enough from other donations of food and stuff to take them that way (opened and unused). NOTHING I've tried works.

Well, the challenge with Coconut oil is that it's melted at about 75F. Give or take. So, it would be grease now, generally, atop kibble. I could try melting it and putting in on there, although I admit, that sounds utterly disgusting to me, but then again, I'm not a cat. Worst case, I'll end up throwing out some of his food. {shrug}.

@Cins, thanks! We think so, of course. Not that we're BIASED or anything. Ha!

Now the cat I miss most is Tacky.
Mom got her before she had me. Tacky died when I was 20.
Note I slept in a banana box when I was first brought home from the hospital.
Apparently Tacky decided I needed company or she needed a new funny looking kitten.
So she would either sleep with or guard me I am not sure which.
I heard that someone came over while I was napping.
My mother was smart enough not to wake a sleeping baby unless absolutely necessary.
The guest (I am guessing a relative) decided that I needed to be up. Or it might have been my dad since he is the one that remembered it. They never made it to me. As soon as the person reached down, Tacky went into attack mode. I don't think there was any bloodshed but she made sure that the person knew not to disturb my nap.

When I moved into a crib, that is where she slept too.

In later years, the cat ruled the house, the kids and the boxer.

She was a Tortie, long before they became popular.

I don't think Coconut oil re-solidifies quite at 75, even though it melts at that. I keep some in my bathroom, as a skin oil, and it stays soft longer than I expect. So anyway, it's worth a try once! And besides, cats/dogs generally like straight up butter; why not straight up coconut oil? It's not the same as "grease".

Although they'd probably adore bacon grease too, no matter how yucky it sounds to us!

Why can't I just download a driver. Plug in the USB cable and have the driver let me set up that I want to use it wirelessly. I ranted on the HP site how they need to actually hire a usability person for their products and an information architect to fix their dysfunctional web site.
I've dealt with a number of HP printers over the years. The business models have generally been easy to deal with. The consumer models are another matter.

At a previous employer, my go to printer in the computer room was a Laserjet II. It was built like a tank, and Just Worked. It wasn't what you used for fancy graphics, but I didn't need that, and for what it did print, it was flawless. When it finally died I wanted to bury it with full honors. Other models weren't a problem either, though I was using them to print from Unix, which was a bit more complex. I wound up rewriting the existing shell script that handled that to combine it into one script instead of two and make it easier to maintain and add new printers.

The consumer models are another matter. I have a All-In-One combo copier/scanner/printer inkjet. The printer works well enough, but the driver is a PITA. I seldom actually have to print, but my SO has reason too, and I'm tired of having to reboot the machine to clear a stuck job from the print spool. And while the model I have has a wireless option, it's essentially unusable. The Wifi option doesn't connect to the router - it connects to a PC, and if you want to use it from a different PC, it must be transferred. What we wound up doing was getting an extra long USB connecting cable, normally clipped in a coil, and unclipped and plugged into whatever machine we need to print from when printing is needed, The device is getting to the point where it needs replacement, and something that can connect via wifi through my router and be used by any machine will be a primary selector.

I suspect the replacement will not be an HP machine.

My HP will connect wirelessly through the router.
It prints from 2 laptops and one tablet.
I just put in the disk that came with the printer in the computers and just got the HP print app for my tablet.

Yes, I freely admit, I use it as a skin oil, too. It also can work wonders on hair although you have to have a dab hand at it (yes, yes, pun intended). And it's lovely on nails and cuticles, while we're at it. I couldn't tell you where it liquifies or solidifies; around here, we have a rather narrow range of temperatures, between the A/C in the summertime (78F, give or take) and the heater in the winter (70F, give or take).

I do concur that it's likely I could get them to lick it up in liquid form. I don't know if he'd go for the solidified form. We'll see. I know you're all waiting with bated breath for the result. <snort>.

I hate it when an online store send you an email telling you your order has shipped and when you click on the tracking link you discover that only the shipping label has been made and it can take several days before the order is actually send.
