In my hotel in Madrid.

The clients took me out to the centre of Madrid tonight. I have to say that I am very impressed with it. A really beautiful city with a great atmosphere. We ate at a market where you could buy wine by the glass and tapas from each stall. It was a great night out and very different from anything I've experienced at home.

I'm up way too early for a Monday morning.
Monday is part of my weekend and normally the only thing I have to do is go to the supermarket and cook in the evening, once a month I also go to the craft store.

Not today. Today will be a long day. First my father and I have an appointment with a manufacturer to look at their new LED light bulbs. Then it's off to three suppliers, two will be quick pick ups but one will take a while because my father will most likely go through all the isles to see what's new. After that we have to run several other errands; to Staples to get copies made of receipts, to the metal store for aluminium/aluminum strips and the craft store.

Back home I have to make a list of returns and pack them for the salesman/representative of one of our suppliers who is coming to visit tomorrow.

After that I don't think I'll be in the mood to cook, so I'll treat my mother and sister to some take-away.

Planning a trip later today,to visit my oldest friend.
He only lives a few miles away but it is an epic short
journey involving much changing of buses,and trying
to work out the latest schedules they have posted,
in order to 'improve' the service!

I've just ordered an early Christmas present for myself.

A couple of weeks ago I came across this poster on Etsy, and since I had just cleaned up my little tea corner I thought it would be a nice print to hang on the wall. I've ordered the cream version.

Despite the fact that I don't feel like it's Christmas in less than a week (I blame the 15C weather) today's the Saturday Before Christmas.

Which means it will be one of the busiest days of the year in the store. I'll take an extra pair of shoes downstairs with me, so I can swap half way through the day and will have less tired feet and legs at closing time. Lunch will be a salad; it won't go soggy, cool down, warm up or go stale. Though chances are I won't have time to eat lunch. And I've already put everything together for a nice hot foot bath at the end of the day, I only have to add hot water.

I've learned! The extra shoes were bliss. We've had over 150 customers, so that's very good. Luckily except for a few of them they knew what they wanted, friendly and quick.

We're closed on Sunday and Monday, so tomorrow it'll start again. I expect two busy days and on the day of Christmas eve it'll be busy-ish in the morning and it'll be quiet in the afternoon; most people are busy buying food and other preparations.

That doesn't mean I'll be bored. Tonight my father will pick up an order, on Wednesday we'll get the delivery we normally get on Friday and maybe we'll also get a big shipment of LED, CFL and other lightbulbs in.

I'm already looking forward to sleeping in on Friday (and Saturday and Monday)!

I'm currently planning on sleeping late tomorrow.

The renovations in the building next door continued during weekends the last couple of weeks. And even those days they started around 7am. I now have two, maybe even three days (if they have Sunday off) of no noise next door. Bliss.
