@moderators
could you set up some sticky for ATDrake? I know he is much appreciated - so he deserves sticky. So as it is at the moment it is almost like spamming (@ATDrake no offence intended and your input is much appreciated - but I just want to see what others have to say and the first page is only you mostly. Sticky would be a good solution. You have karma enough to have sticky

How is it spamming?
If it is because you are getting too many emails, you can turn those off in your control panel.
Click on the subscriptions.

Incidentally, that is where Feedback belongs. Why are you posting in the Deals forum?

Do note that there was an official moderator decision that ATDrake's current method is doing just fine.

And my $0.02 is that anyone uninterested in deals can ignore that subforum and won't see the "spam", and anyone whois interested in the deals doesn't give a darn about who posts them.

For what it's worth, I'm with varlog. I don't think it's "spamming," but ATDrake's posts are so numerous that they dominate the non-sticky portion of the "Deals ..." forum and other posts are quickly driven to the second page. I can live with it, either way, but the forum would be easier to use (for me, at least) if they were collected under one heading.

I've got mixed feelings about the ATDrake postings. There can be a lot of them, but they show up in my RSS feed. For new postings in the stickies I follow, I have to look at each sticky because the new postings don't show up in my RSS feed. Still, I think I'd rather see a single ATDrake top 3 of the day thread over three daily freebie threads.

I look for deals all the time. I had not noticed the ATDrake posts most of them. Besides most deals are only good for a day or two anyway.

I just looked at the deals thread. He only has 4 threads and not that many other threads have even been posted this last week.

Color me confused.

I don't get why so many people have a problem with his posting. He puts in the title thread what each books is so you can overlook it if it's not your cup of tea. I for one appreciate his hard work and creativity. He posts freebies I would not get to see otherwise.

I would not mind seeing a monthly thread for all of the postings. I do appreciate that they are being posted, but in the interest of making things easier, that would be my choice. That would be like the affiliate thread we have going. Then if anyone wanted to ignore the thread, they could easily.

I guess if you don't usually find things that you, personally, want, you might find that his threads choke out the other threads in that forum.

Which begs the question -- which other threads?
And -- why does it matter that threads posted by ATDrake choke out threads by xxx? It's not a competition to see who find who the most deals.

Anyway, we have the megathreads which group common categories together.

Specifically because affiliate links require disclosure.

Agreed what other threads? He posts maybe twice a week new stuff but there is seldom any other type of deals others post. We have a media thread now which goes all movies, music and games and there is a thread for about every genre. What is left? All tablets and devices deals should go in the Black Friday thread till the new year when Monkey will open a new thread for those type deals and close the current one.
