The new source KBJ-UDKakugo modifies the size of the letters with accents:

If you liked Gothic font you can recover it. Extract the font from a previous fw and copied to the fw 3.19.5613. You can extract and then generate a KoboRoot.tgz with the following path for installation. \usr\local\Trolltech\QtEmbedded-4.6.2-arm\lib\fonts\Gothic MB101.otf

This on a Kobo Aura, so other devices might behave differently.

I was at hospital yesterday and had a five hour wait to go to theatre, I read an entire book on my GLO HD running. 3.19 with no issues at all. I was really impressed with my GLO.

Mine was also an Aura and while there are some lags, but only on the first swipe, it doesn't take that long. Succeeding swipes don't lag.

You can just put it in a directory fonts created in the root of the device.
If you do that, you will never have to replace it when your firmware is updated.
If you put it like suggested with a koboroot.tgz action back,it will be erased in every new update.
If you put it in the fonts directory it will survive every update.

Maybe the japanese font should be removed from the selection list for books that aren't japanese. People will select it by accident and not notice that it doesn't do italics and stuff...

As I noted elsewhere, small adjustments don't lag as much as big adjustments, so it's almost usable, but it lags just enough to annoy me. Firmware 3.12.1 has zero lag.

As reported earlier, I was having troubles using Kobo Tsukushi Mincho font. Despite not using the font anymore, I was a feeling a bit uneasy about it, so I thought to do a clean-up of my Glo.

I took a backup of my books and SQL database, did a factory reset, reinstalled the upgrade 3.19.5613, patched it with Metazoa patches and Nightmode patch, and put back my backup and my other sideloaded fonts on the device.

After this process, I observe that the font is not giving problems. Books do not close any more while page turns, and I can switch back to another fonts without switching off the device. I have tried both Kepubs and sideloaded epubs.

I do not know what caused this phenomenon, but I wish to bring this to the notice of tech-Gurus here, if it is relevant and significant in any way.

If you're going to the trouble of resetting your device I would strongly advise against restoring the database, but rather let the device reload all content into the new database. Do use David's Kobo Utilities to restore reading position and let calibre redefine the collections.

Restoring the database will just ensure that any issues which were present in the DB will still be present.

I've got an Aura HD and it appears to me that the ghosting problem is back. When I first wake up the device, the page that appears is almost unreadable before a refresh. There is a little bit of ghosting with footnote boxes as well, though not as bad as with 3.17.3.

Its the same on a Glo. When I wake it up I see a ghost of the sleep screen. As soon as I turn to the next page all is fine.

Yep, or tapping it twice..
Strange..at the previous one there was a problem with full sreen reading and refreshes..now they solved that, and the ghosting is back.. almost look like they reverted something, not fixed it..
