Thanks! Will add them too. I keep hoping Judith McNaught will put hers on digital.

Since they are listed for the pre-order prices on the Harlequin site, I cancelled my Google pre-orders for Diamond Bay ($2.99), Heartbreaker ($2.99), and White Lies ($4.99).
I'll just buy the $2.99 ones and use a code for the $4.99 one. Worst case scenario, the prices all go up and I'll have to use codes for all of them. I'd prefer to get them direct from the Harlequin site anyway. Or Kobo. I'm going to try to call tomorrow and find out why Midnight Rainbow isn't on the site. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the rewards program. I would think the author would make the same amount and Harlequin absorbs the cost when a redemption code is used, but maybe not. |

I am putting some of those Linda Howard on a watchlist. Have not read those.
Duncan's Bride seems to get a lot of good reviews from folks I follow in goodreads. I also noticed that promo code ebooks are still 2000 points on harlequin. I don't have enough points left at this point. It will be a while before I collect more. I do that poll once a week and I guess they have some stuff on facebook. I guess harpercollins books don't count for getting points, but one can redeem for them if they are the site? Did I get this right? Thanks to Blossom I can read those books now. I even found the caecilia font in the pocket book reader. Only on the Fire though. But the Fire6 is really nice to read on if I have to read on a tablet. My new phone would also be good with the bluefilter it has, but I just don't like the fonts on there. I am almost done reading "One Good Man" by Julie Miller and I really like it. I am so exited to have grown people here. Hero is 39. Yay. I am a bit tired of all the young whiny babies that are so prevalent in romance now. The other free one I got is Deborah Simmons Taming the Wolf. Medieval which is also getting rare in newer romance. I need to start making an old fashioned list with some of the books you guys mention, re-releases and such. I keep wanting to do it, or think I'll go back later in the thread but then I can't find it anymore. ![]() |

Miller's long-running The Precinct series (a spin-off from the Taylor Clan) has a number of older heroes. The series is hit-or-miss for me, but with many more good books than bad. She's been a long time autobuy author for me.

Atunah, I'm will only buy backlists now. I can't stand most of the stuff being release today. There are a few exceptions but for the most part it's just subpar writing or filled with sex and no real plot. You then as you say have NA type of books filled with all sorts of angst and heroines that are not heroines by any means.

I missed getting my 2000 point code at HMR yesterday, so that's two days I've missed.

So how much do you have to buy to get 2000 points?

I think you get a 100 points for $1 cover price. When they had the sale back in October I spent like $11 something but got points for the cover price of the books (so that was like 8800 points).
Also, if you log in every week you get points for voting in little mini polls about covers, etc, so that's usually 2 things at 100 points each. And if you click the Facebook link, they have a spot the difference in covers, so that's usually worth 200 points. And you don't have to be on Facebook as I'm not, you just click on the "Check our Facebook page to earn more points" link. So you can get 400 points per week on average without buying anything. I think you can also post reviews and stuff on their message board and get points, but I haven't done that. They also have specials every month where if you buy specific books you get 5000 points instead of 100 points per $1 spent. When you first join now you get 2000 points just for completing your profile, so that's currently enough for a free book redemption code. The codes normally cost 5000 points, so 2000 points is less than half price. You can only redeem one per day though. I have a lot of points as I do the activities every week, plus I always email them my Kobo receipts when I buy Carina Press books. And I like a lot of Harlequin and Carina authors, so they just add up. |

I make it a point to pick up one of the books that give you 5000 points whenever I go on a coupon-stacking spree. There's usually one title that qualifies for whatever theme-based special is going on at the time, and with multiple coupons it works out pretty cheap. At the current redemption rate, if you buy two of these bonus-point titles, you earn FIVE free ebooks!

Thanks for all the tips. I joined even though I won't be purchasing to earn. The free points earned through Facebook will make it easy to earn a free book or two if they stay at 2000. Got my first 2000 redeemed and earned 500 in FB activities. I'll save up for Linda Howard's books this way.

I've never used Twitter? so I don't know much about tweeting. Maybe it is something that will help you build up additional points faster. Since I have a subscription with Harlequin and went a little crazy ![]() I wonder if redeeming 2000 points for an eBook is more or less permanent. I think it would be cheaper to give free eBooks then print books. Anyway, I am enjoying the program. |
