I'm excited to see a rock star romance with an actual death metal band! The m/m and trans-gender elements on top of that will add some real conflict in that setting. (With some fans, it can be difficult enough being a woman, or even just liking the "wrong" band. )

Believe me, I know. One of many reasons I like the book. I'm only half-way through it so far, but Kaje Harper never disappoints.

Bastian’s Storm – Summary

When Bastian’s former mentor comes into the picture and presents him with an ultimatum, Bastian slips into old habits. In an effort to protect her, Bastian has no choice but to throw himself back into his old job – death match tournaments – just one last time.

Dropped into the arctic wilderness with weapons loaded, Bastian has to compete against representatives from major crime lords all over the states. He’s studied his competition, he knows their weaknesses, and he’s ready to battle for the woman he loves. There’s only one opponent in the mix that causes him any concern. In order to guarantee Raine’s safety, Bastian will be pitted against the key hit man for Chicago’s largest mob family – a guy who’s known as one hell of a shot.

Hmmm, I pre-ordered Linda Howard's Duncan's Bride by Linda Howard from Kobo since it's on a pre-order sale for $2.99.

It's one of my favorite books ever by her.

But I'm seeing these finally-in-digital releases from her backlist are from MIRA/Avon Impulse. I had already pre-ordered White Lies, Heartbreaker, Diamond Bay, and Lake of Dreams from Google Play back in August. I'm wondering now if I should cancel my pre-orders and use my My Rewards redemption codes. It's a pain having to use my laptop to get Google Play books (since ADE 1.7 won't work with their books). Decisions, decisions...


Not all of her pre-orders show on the Harlequin site yet.

Kobo has Midnight Rainbow as being available for purchase (at $7.49 ) with a release date of October 2015, but it isn't showing up at all at Harlequin even though it's published by MIRA (same price at Amazon). [Sorry, I love the series, but I refuse to pay that much for a category-length book. I'd snap it up in a heartbeat with one of my My Rewards codes though if it were for sale on their site ]

Anyway, it looks like more of her backlist is coming early in 2016 and some of them are on pre-order sale for $2.99 (this is addition to the titles which showed up back in late August). So if you're a fan of her early work you may want to check out your favorite store.

Kathleen Korbel (Eileen Dreyer) is self-publishing her Silhouette backlist. The Ice Cream Man (SIM#309), Isn't It Romantic (SD#703), A Prince of a Guy(SD#389), The Princess and the Pea (SD#455) are available now. Others coming in 2016.
