Content Price difference

Hello, I noticed a strange thing, maybe somebody can explain it to me.
On Amazon I saw a book (Mentats of Dune) which costed $3.68. I was interested, but I noticed I was not logged in. When I logged in, the price rose to $9.99.
Is there a reason for this change of price ?

Just looked on dot.Com site and the kindle edition is 9.99 in the US. The paperback which popped up first was a bit cheaper.

I would guess that when you're not logged in Amazon is seeing your location as one country, but when logged in it's using whatever country your account is set to and that they are different.

This is the link I used. As you can see, (I hope) the Kindle price is $3.67
Country is US

After sign-in the link becomes like this. And the price goes up.

Both links go the same page if I signed in, and the same happens when I am not signed in. The variable is my signing in/off. So probably the same may happen if you try, that is you shall see the higher price if you are signed in.
I am attacching an image to show what it looked like, when I am unsigned.

Right now I am just curious about why it should behave like this.

But the US showed 9.99 too.
Unless it jumped in price between his clicks which is also possible.

A large difference in ebook prices between countries isn't unusual.

In the UK, the ebook is a whopping £9.49, or about US$14.40.

My IP is from USA and either logged on or off, book it is the same price.

I just logged in on my Amazon US account (with italian cookies too)

and book price was

btw here in Italy this book is "cheap" (€3,45 for english version, i don't find any italian version for price comparison) so, maybe, Amazon US seens italian cookies and drop down price.
It's only an idea, cold be wrong or right.

I was looking at my WL the other day. One of my ebooks was $2. BUT by the time I logged in time ran out it was back to $5.99

Could be that's what happened to you.
