I just had to return a kindle book I bought in the harlequin sale. I hadn't noticed that the wrong book is in the file. I wanted Julie Miller's "One good Man" and what I got was "One Good Man" by Charlotte Douglas. The author is listed as julie miller and I had it in the wishlist, so I didn't pay attention. The cover though and the actual book is the other author. Weirdness.
Pretty sure I heard about Julie Miller in this thread so I thought I'd try one. Bummer.

I also got a free book from harlequin. I got all exited when Blossom mentioned Pocketbook as I found out on the Kindle Fire, it imports a few of the kindle fonts in that are not on my android phone. Palatino and baskerville, georgia and another. Not caecilia unfortunately or the bookerly font.

But, when I finally after lots of fiddling figured out how to get the book in the app, its right ragged. I find no setting in this reader app either for full justification. Is this common for all these epub reader apps to have just right ragged? It looks horrible. Now what. . I am about to give up. Book was free with the points, so no big loss, but still.

Going back reading my easy to open kindle book now. So glad I have a kindle and that was the choice I made in 2008. I would have pulled all my hair out by now over the years trying to make the other formats work.

Blossom, if you have given away your ereaders, because you prefer the tablet screen to the eink, I'm not so sure the improvement is going to be so big that you love it (and I say it as an owner of Kobo Aura and Kobo Aura HD, but I prefer eink).

I love that book. I hope you get it sorted.

To justify click on the round disc/3 dots/ end of pencil looking icon and it will bring up settings. You want to go to paragraphs and choose the align setting. There you can set it to justify.

The Kobo can be ordered from Canada, with free shipping, which makes it quite reasonable from the USA. Do NOT buy the Kobo reader case as it does not have cutouts for the reset button! Cheaper, better cases are available elsewhere.
Do I get it from Kobo or Chapters for free shipping? This sounds great my problem with Kindles is the font size and fonts and uneven tint of the screen. It gives me eyestrain.

OMG thank you so much. I fiddled with every setting, I didn't try the paragraph thing as I thought it had to do with the other settings of indent and such
Its what I get for not knowing what stuff is called.

Also thanks for the link to the Julie Miller.

This is the one I bought. I had it in my wishlist long time so I just clicked buy from there and didn't look closely at the cover. Since the name of the author says Julie Miller I thought that was it. Until I opened it and saw the author note at the beginning

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M6G1W94

I am all set I think now with the pocketbook reader. Overall its the easiest to figure out, well minus the justification snafu.
I am just happy that the Fire6 pulls some of the kindle fonts in and they look much nicer. When I tried the same app on my android phone, all the fonts looked the same, they didn't change at all when I clicked on it. No clue why not. Now I can read in Palatino which looks quite nice in the app. Much better than that default serif font that makes my eyes dizzy.

As usual, you are awesome Blossom

If I still have enough promo left tomorrow, I'll get the Julie Miller then. The real version isn't on sale.

I've never been sorry for choosing and sticking with an e-ink Kindle. I know lots of people have philosophical problems with Amazon, but I don't. The ease of use is phenomenal compared to other devices and if I do want to read on another device, I just use the Kindle app.

I also have an iPad so on the rare occasions that I need to read an epub, I email it to myself, then open it in iBooks. Yes, I could convert it in Calibre, but even that is too much trouble. I'm very lazy.

You're welcome.

You can copy the fonts from the KF6 to your phone. They are located in the system/fonts folder.

Unfortunately that doesn't work. I tried to move those files any which way to my phone with EZfile, but it fails every single time. I even put them on drop box, downloaded to phone and couldn't find them at first. Tried to then move them within EZ from wherever they were to the system/font on my phone and it failed again. Some error code bla bla with some read only bla bla . No clue, don't want to mess with my phone. I am just not techy enough for this stuff.

At least I get to read on my Fire6, only place I could get those fonts on to read. And I didn't even do that, they just appeared on their own in the PB reader app.

I'd just leave mine in the downloads folder and Pocketbook finds them.

I have no clue where the download folder is or if I am getting the stuff there. I managed to put some fonts on dropbox and I click some icon after highlighting that looks like a phone with an arrow. I assume that means downloading to my phone. But I get no notice, I have no clue where they are and they aren't showing in pocketreader. So who knows. I just don't really know what I am doing or where the stuff goes. Can't even find them with the EZ file thingy.

Try putting the fonts in a folder called fonts. Use ES File Explorer to create a folder name fonts then copy the fonts into it.

In downloads? This might be above my pay grade.

I'll stick with the fire and thanks to you I have ice fonts on it now and can read my free harlequin books.

Sorry, I just looked at Chapters and it states free shipping only within Canada. I was in Europe when I bought mine and paid lots for shipping and then extra taxes and other penalties. Not my best purchasing move The Kobo thread has all sorts of good purchasing advice on it. They do have sales occasionally and the exchange rate with US dollars makes the price a bit better as well.
Good luck.

Aside: I have the Amazon Kindle Voyage as well and it has even better screen tint/lighting and usage features. I don't fuss much with fonts though. Don't need to. It seems to be soothing to my eyes as I read, just amazing.
