Thanks. Interesting. Well I can confirm it won't work on harlequin books, which I assume also includes harper collins since they own them. It also doesn't work on Random House. So I'll just assume no big 5.

The same applied to Fictionwise.

It's the principle of the thing: they want to make sure you pay every last cent they say you have to pay. Wouldn't want their precious devalued.

Doesn't the UK have agency? They can use credits for all publishers.

Well, they are precious to me too. The books I want to read that is. And I did get the Random House on sale for 99 cents. Just on gift card instead of promo. Its normally always 7.99. Which I wont pay for a back list title.

That is how I use those credits, I wait for stuff to go on sale. Publishers big and small.

I had to sit on my hands all week with all the publisher sales left and right.

Gift cards are money, not discounts. So yeah, those are allowed.
But neither rebates, credits, nor discounts are allowed.

Credits towards books (or digital media) only are expressly disallowed. Amazon tried that in Italy and got shot down.

That is fine. There are other than big 5 publishers to buy books from with the promos after all. I still got an amazing deal in that one case, got several other books from other publishers and always wait for sales on the high price stuff anyway. I win in all cases.

I'll probably get less of the promos in future as we have primeNow here and lots of stuff I buy regularly on Amazon gets to my doorstep in 2 hours. Amazon ships all with USPS which does not go to my door, but Apt office so I always have to hunt down my packages. Which is why I started doing the promo shipping for the trouble.

I save them up and then check my wishlists for price reductions and go to town.

eta: Wow, to get $3 for digital. Sorry, I don't have the right money sign on my keyboard. Awesome for you guys in UK.

I believe you must use the numbers on the numeric pad on the right hand side, not the numbers above the main keyboard.
