I get emails from Open Road Media about their deals/freebies. Each book will have links to the various stores where you should be able to get them at that price. A few times, I've found that Kobo hasn't lowered the prices. I don't know if they just didn't do it at all, or if they raised it back up early. I'm in the same time zone as Kobo headquarters (Toronto) so that shouldn't be a problem. And the other stores seem to get it right. I haven't noticed if it's always during the contest.

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but has anyone else noticed that there is no longer a cash component in the contest's grand prize? The grand prize is now only 2 ereaders and 10,000 super points. They need to rename it the 'no-so-grand prize'.
When you consider that its a multi-national contest with hundreds of thousands of entrants, thats a pathetic prize. The ereaders will cost Kobo very little and even the points dont translate to an equal dollar value.

Maybe they lost sponsors or maybe they no longer feel they make enough money from the trivia contests. Advertising is a tricky business and more and more companies are monitoring ads to make sure they bring in sales/money.

The value is not random, but there seems to be a minimum of 2,400 points per book, so it is not worth redeeming points for very cheap books. Exactly how much they are worth does depend a bit on how carefully you select what to redeem them for though.
