Calibre-server / Linux don't see calibreDB update when it's running
Calibre-server on Raspberry Debian don't see the new books when it's already started and I update books and calibreDB
If I kill the process and restart, Calibre-server sees the newest books. I use also COPS and BiBucStriim, both see the newest books. I launch Calibre-server in a script like this Quote:

I think later versions of calibre fixed this, but Raspbian is pretty outdated...

Dont use --auto-reload that is for reloading the server when source code changes, not when content changes.

How to know the version number of calibre server? Do you the latest number version.
I'll update and see if that fixes. |

As far as I can tell the last calibre package available for raspbian is 0.8.51. That is so old that is attracts zombies. For example, it predates support for calibre companion, which was released in 2012.
Auto-reloading libraries works as calibre 2.0 (the new database stuff). |

Do you want to try ArchLinuxARM?
It's based off of a rolling-release distro, so it's always up-to-date. Bleeding-edge, in fact. ![]() Here is a direct link to their package archives showing the available version of calibre: http://archlinuxarm.org/packages?search=calibre Yes, I use ArchLinux on my PC. ... ... Just because Raspbian is the most famous ARM distro, doesn't mean you have to use it. Personally, I've given up on Debian and derivatives. Last edited by eschwartz; 11-19-2015 at 11:02 AM. |

Hello Eschwartz, I could install Arch Linux on my Raspberry PI2.
Can you tell me where I can find a procedure to install Calibre or perhaps is there a post on this forum? Thanks for all |

Luckily ArchLinuxARM has a precompiled version of calibre for ARM, and it's up-to-date, so you could simply use `sudo pacman -S calibre` (pacman is the ArchLinux package manager).
But it's also easy to build from source. `yaourt -Sb calibre` (yaourt is a pacman wrapper which helps you build from source via ABS or the AUR). Or manually download the PKBUILD and run makepkg by hand. See: package: calibre, "Package Actions" (on the right), "Source Files". And see: Arch Build System Building packages yourself is really easy (by design) on ArchLinux. Last edited by eschwartz; 11-24-2015 at 03:55 PM. |
