It really makes me happy that Jim is such an animal lover. I spent some time volunteering at a shelter when I was young, and the amount of abused animals that I saw still haunts me.

Well, it's the ones who appear to be sane that are really crazy.

Etherealists lose bits of themselves to their power, and need their clutter (?) to keep them functional.


Perhaps Cavendish has lost all of herself, and come out the other side twisted but functional.

I am reminded for some reason of Carcer, though I'm not sure why. They are pretty different people.

I am probably half way now in the Cinder Spires. Love it so far. It has been written well and also the story itself is well put together. I really adore Folly. She hit a soft spot with me.
