I got one of those a couple weeks ago (and it worked). I wonder if there's some cycle on which they send them, or if it's just coincidental that a bunch of people have mentioned getting them lately.

I was a little bummed because I KNEW there had been books that I thought I'd be interested in if I could find a big enough coupon, but I couldn't think what any of them were once I got it (or else I'd already read them from the library). I did get something I wanted and was happy for that, just not the couldn't-have-gotten-it-otherwise sort of thing you hope for with one of those coupons.

EDIT: All ePub3's I've run across so far from Kobo don't make use of any new features of the ePub 3 spec. Instead they are basically ePub 2's that are only technically ePub 3's due to a few settings in the file. Some pubs (especially Macmillan) have just decided to make ePub 3 the default output of their production workflow. (note: my experience is based on plain old linear fiction books, not tech or science books, etc.)

This is something I've been confused about. Am I right in thinking that if something is epub3 it also has the newer DRM, and that that DRM isn't removable as of now? I'm not interested in paying for books that I can't have control over, and more and more the things I see on kobo say they're epub3 (though at least they do say, which is better than elsewhere).
