I skimmed through the first two chapters using Kobo's web preview and couldn't spot any problems, so it looks like it has been updated since then.

Note that they don't usually push updates to previous purchasers so if that's how you're checking you might not get any changes that may (or may not) have been made.

Note that the web preview isn't necessarily a good indication of the formatting of the actual eBook. They have hundreds of Harlequin titles that are completely messed up (which they know about), but the web preview looks fine. At least that was my experience shortly after they started the web preview in its current form.

The formatting is different, but the web preview would still show any OCR errors in the text, such as the missing punctuation murg described.

Well obviously the previewer couldn't show text that is not actually present in the book it is previewing, so it must be previewing a different version of the book. But that is exactly what would be expected if the book has been updated.

The Amazon UK version is missing the same full stop in paragraph three of Chapter Two, at the end of the paragraph:

Note: this doesn't mean that the other errors were fixed, this just happened to be an easy one to find from memory. And the Amazon AU listing doesn't do preview.

That mistake is in the Kobo preview of the UK omnibus too, I missed that. Oddly the UK individual editions are quite different from the omnibus edition, they seem to have the same text as the US editions. So it looks like the US editions may be the best ones to get after all.

Whether it was a joke or not, it's still a cookbook, and therefore eligible to be included in the cookbooks thread. These "bargains" threads are the one place on MR that appropriate cross-posting is absolutely fine. The person who posted it may wish to cross-post it to the cookbooks thread.
