This was one of my favorite short-stories turned into a loose novel books I a read as a kid.

A fantasy classic, and one of the few that cannot be said to be influenced by LOTR, because it was published in the same year that LOTR was.

I tried to read this series. I got past book one and found it was not bad. But book two I had to stop. I disliked the dolphins and the way it was written was not good. It is a shame that a more deserving book that year did not get the award.

I tried to read the series. The first book was missing punctuation on every page. I stopped trying to read the series.

The "Uplift" series is one of my favourites. Superb SF. My copy of "Sundiver" (the first book in the series) is absolutely fine.
