Tom's hardware is much more complex and I do not have time right now. Perhaps in January.

Sarcastic gamer has no rss at all and it's quite complex for parsing thus I do not have interest in developing this since I do not use it.

Thanks a lot. I understand the complexity of developping recipes for the other two so it's not a problem. If you do have the time to try Tom's Hardware that would be much appreciated but no worries and no pressure. I just wish I knew enough to do it myself.
So thanks for Engadget and Fudzilla.

Request For Recepes - German Swedish, Dutch news; MoJo

Hi,

I'm attaching a recipe for TruthOut.org. It seems to be working fine.

Can the recipe for Spiegel International - English (German news in English) be added to the Calibre Fetch News list? It was developed by klipklop74 and attached (posted) on December 3rd and works fine. Thanks.

Also, can the following feed replace the one used in klipklop74's recipe for The Nation?

http://feedproxy.google.com/ArticlesFromTheNation

More articles are picked up with that (the one above). Thanks.

I would like to see recipes for the following:

1. http://www.motherjones.com

Need all of the articles from the "Daily Jones" section.

2. http://consortiumnews.com/

Would like to have articles from the main list in the middle of the page going back about ten days.

3. http://www.thelocal.se/

Swedish news in English.

Would like to get the articles that appear listed in the News, Politics, and Society tabs of the News section on the left side of the page.

4. http://www.nrc.nl/international/

Dutch news in English.

Would like to get the articles in the International, Discussion, Opinion sections going back about 10 days.

5. http://www.dutchnews.nl/

Dutch news in English.

Would like to get articles from the "latest news from The Netherlands" section, the Columns section, and the Features section.

Thanks and Happy Holidays to all...

Actually it was not that difficult. Here goes:

For this recipe to work correctly user must have an account. That is the only way to print page.

Has anyone got a working feed for Slashdot.org?

http://rss.slashdot.org/Slashdot/slashdot

It gives out recursion errors if I just paste the feed in. I've figured out that it's probably because it's using the <link> attribute in the feed, whereas if it just pulled out the <rdf:li rdf:resource= *whatever* /> tag which has the direct URLs in at the top, or the <item rdf:about="whatever"> attribute from the actual item entry section - or even <feedburnerrigLink>, all of those go straight to the story page without any URL changing nonsense. Unfortuntely, I have no idea how to tell Calibre to do that, the best I can manage is replacing bits of the URL. Help, please? =/

EDIT: I should note I'd like the entire page including comments, not just the actual news post. Who reads /. for the articles, after all?

EDIT 2: I think I got the right URLS in but it's only getting 5 of them, not all 15, and it's freezing after hitting recursion limits on those 5. Anyone?

EDIT 3: OK, I've got this far, and it is pulling out the correct links. Anyone got any idea what's going wrong?

Spoiler:

Specific section

Hi there,

How do you download only a portion of a magazine like the OPINION column of The Economist, for example?

Does anyone ever request for www.aldaily.com ? (Arts daily)
The same question as above, how do you only get a specific portion of it? i.e. I would like the essays and opinion section only from Arts daily?

Thank you

Simple, if there is existing recipe for whatever content you are interrested you modify it. (add new newsfeed button) and in that dialog choose option modify existing recipe.

usually all sites separate their content in various rss feeds. the thing is to keep or add only one's yuo are interrested in.

If such recipe does not exist you will have to write it.

BTW recipe for adaily is nearly impossible to write since it just points to various texts on various websites. There is no standard pattern anybody can use to get the appropriate content.

This site requires paid access and anybody that would want to develop this recipe would have to purchase that access. Furthermore data is stored in pdf format which is additional burden, complicates things quite a bit.
