Most likely.
It takes three months to run through the FCC process and, while Amazon is very clever in disguising their submissions, they usually get outed before release.
Still, it's not impossible to hide a new gadget if you really, really want to.

Microsoft just did it with the SurfaceBook.

Still, odds are that if Amazon doesn't announce anything by Friday there won't be anything new this year and probably nothing til March at the earliest.

And, lets face it, it's not as if they have to. There's still nothing out there that matches the Voyage.

Just curious: if someone already has a Voyage, what would need to be added or changed to convince you to get a Voyage 2?

Also FWIW: I did just get a followup email from Amazon which concluded: The launch is not in plans as for now.

I'd certainly consider one that had the features now requiring JB and fiddling with the files in Calibre. Screensavers with the JB. adding fonts rather than embedding, narrowing margins and leading with Calibre. But we know that's not going to happen. Faster processor, more memory or waterproofing wouldn't do it for me, but a warmer color frontlight might help. Maybe there will be something interesting I haven't thought of. I've considered Kobo but really am enjoying the Origami cover and would hate to lose that. Not sure enough of my capability to try the serial JB. All my kindles before the KV have been jailbroken and I miss that. Am waiting for the release....

Tough one as I so love my Voyage.
Actual buttons like on the Keyboard or older basic might get me, or build in invisible solar panels so it will always charge and never ever has to be plugged in for charging again.
On and off wakeup button that works by touch or swipe or some thing. I always worry about wearing it out. I have a official cover, but only use that at night and prefer reading the Voyage without a cover because of the weight. Gets heavy for my hands and arms otherwise.
Wireless touch button for page changing I can hold in one hand

I think its save to say I'll continue to use my current Voyage for a while.

Solar panels is a good one. I think it wouldn't need much. The Touch case with the light could draw power from the Kindle through the contacts on the back. Maybe a Kindle could have such contacts to be recharged when in its case; the front of the case could have a solar panel in it. It would be charged by just putting the Kindle on a table during the day.

I've never worn out a button on any device within its useful lifespan. This includes rhythm start/stop and fill-in buttons on arranger keyboards. You sometimes hit those buttons 10+ times within one song of 4 minutes. That is WAY more than you'd ever press the Kindle's on/off button.

Logically I hear you. I mean I haven't worn one out on any of my kindles from the K1 to the K3 to the basic. I was just throwing stuff out there as overall I can't really think of anything other than the solar charging to make the Voyage better for me.

I'd love that, but I'm afraid Amazon has other priorities. The number of people who'd buy it for the TTS probably does not nearly make up for the added expense and loss of audible sales.

Hardware wise, here is what I think would be good for a Voyage 2.

A 6.8" screen, 8gigs of storage, waterproof, solar panel, more powerful battery, wireless charging, audio, and a memory card slot.
