Sure. You give them a coupon code for the flowers or chocolate. When they try to redeem it, roll the dice and see if their code is valid.

Looks like it isn't fully integrated into the site yet. When I do a search, the list page doesn't show the discounts on the indie books. But when I go to individual book pages, it's there. (US site)

I see Baen books are now eligible for the VIP discount too. Maybe all books eligible for promo codes are also eligible for VIP discount now, so far I haven't been able to fiind one that isn't.
