OK. I found the cause - small bug in TOC generator.

I will fix in in next release.

it looks like it's some special characters causing it to not show table contents
in my file there is
+ & " or .1
i deleted these characters and now, they shows all

Hey.

I have a kindle PW 6" (212 dpi, 4gb). I'm using KCC 4.6.5 and kindlegen.exe v2.9

I use the K.PW 3/Voyage with ouput MOBI. I have manga mode, stretch and high quality options enabled.

I have same error as lvfmc85, my KCC is stuck at creating MOBI files... If I run kindlegen.exe with the EPUB file that I got from KCC I get the following error:
Info(cssparser):I10004: @rules other than @import, @charset and @font-face are not supported.

"Cause: Double-check your CSS to ensure you are not using any CSS3 rules unsupported by Kindle. The @page declaration that provides viewport padding on EPUB eBooks is not supported by Kindle. Consult the BB eBooks Developers page for CSS boilerplate and read the Amazon Publishing Guidelines for a full list of unsupported CSS properties."

Does this mean I'm using the wrong configurations or something?
Sorry, unsure of what I am doing wrong.

That Kindlegen error is normal.

Cause of this problem is still unknown. KindleGen just freeze. I never replicated this issue.

When you create MOBI manually it work correctly?

Generating the EPUB from KCC and run kindlegen.exe through CMD?

I've done that and that is what gives me the "Info(cssparser):I10004: @rules other than @import, @charset and @font-face are not supported." error.

If I take the EPUB that I get from KCC and convert it to MOBI through Calibre it works, but I don't get the panel view etc in my kindle, it is treated like a book (can't zoom and such). I guess it's some option.

I'll try get my hands on another version of kindlegen and see if it makes any difference later today after work

That "error" is not error - just warning, MOBI should be created anyway.

If you not get MOBI this way - something else is wrong. Please provide entire KindleGen log.

I see, my bad.

I tried kindlegen with verbose output and can see that something is actually happening. It just takes ages. I have a i5 quad 3.2 GHz processor, and kindlegen is using up to 25%.

But yeah, problem solved. It's just really slow in my case. The EPUB file is 300 mb, maybe it's really large I'm not sure.

Anyway, thank you so much for the help!

300mb is not very much in this case.

Something in source EPUB make kindlegen crawl. If you can please upload it somewhere and send me link + information what KCC options you used in PM.

25% is just one entire core. KindleGen don't use multiple cores.

Today my KCC updated to 5.0 and my reader won't open epubs created with the new version. I desperately searched for a way to roll back to 4.6.5 but couldn't find it anywhere. Where can i download it?

I don't think the old versions are left up anywhere.

However, you could build KCC for yourself, if you have python and Qt5 installed.

I have everything except scandir which for whatever reason won't install on my python (the reason probably being some MS visual studio conflicts)
