Well, it's looking very bleak for a Buy 4, Get $10 sale; especially since they just started a $3.95 Hidden Gems Sale (see above post).

I was hopeful for a bit when they started a similar sale in the UK, but after another day or so passed, I gave up. And adding insult to injury, I started listening to a book I had, rather than buy the Whispersync book I wanted to listen to, because I wanted it to be one of my four purchases. Now I've got that book to finish before I can hear what I want.

So sad. One of my favourite sales, since it let ME choose which books I used to take advantage of it, not have to pick from a restricted list.

After reading the fine print in that UK sale, it appears that Audible closed the Whispersync loophole and any sales with low prices.

Audiobooks purchased with cash must have a price of £5.99 or more to be eligible for the three audiobook purchase minimum.

I liked the B4G$10 sales for the same reason. I've never found a book I was willing to buy in those restricted list sales. I want to choose; but since I can't, I never save credits. I spend them as fast as I get them.

If they had closed the Whispersync loophole in the US sale, my game plan was to sign up for the Silver Plan. I already have a credit in hand and that would have given me two, plus the member discount which I hoped would let me find discounted wishlist books that hit just above the cutoff point.

I may still get the Silver Plan (if it's still viable) at some point, mostly to get access to sales and the member discount, but it doesn't seem compelling right now absent the Buy 4 sale.

So I wrote to Audible and asked if and when the Rewards Month offer was going to start here (mentioning that it had already started in the UK). This was their oh so informative response.

Not wanting to be snarky, I still have to say that he failed to "definitely help you in this."

Is it true that if you spend 4 credits all at once, you get a $10 coupon even if there isn't a promotion going on? Because I saved 4 credits and already have the books picked out.

I think you're better off trying a phone call. The folks who respond to e-mail seem to follow a standard form of repeating your query and then giving you a boilerplate "response" that may or may not actually answer your question. Phone contact is better; at least the reps will respond, even if it's just to say they don't know.
