My Library had purchased 4 copies and the hold line is long so I had to POWER through the book when my turn came up.

I really LOVED the book and I am not a fan of steampunk!

Map might be the wrong word, its more a visual slice of where people live. The Spire is round, thus the outer circle. The square is the Habble living area with cables, vents, pipes etc in the empty D shaped parts adjoining the outer edge. Inside the square are representations of city streets and buildings but no legend or labels to explain the parts of the map.

Kind of. The mistake is to assume it is a geographical map with trees, mountains, lakes, cities, and such. Instead it is one level of a multilevel gigantic skyscraper (a spire) that is layed out like a little tiny city (habble). While in the book you can sometimes forget it is all inside.

I believe that is only the picture. The map in the book has a legend (some landmarks labeled), and so does the big map. IIRC there is very small writing - just needs a hires image of the map.
