lost 'replace' in book view
This may have happened a while ago and I not noticed it (don't edit in book view much.......) but it ain't half annoying to have it gone!!!!
v0.8.6. Find and/or replace. All used to work fully in book view set to 'normal', 'current file' and 'down'. When I tried to use it yesterday though, 'find' worked fine, but trying to use 'replace' OR 'find-and-replace' sent it into code view - and, though it landed on the correct line, not even the correct word/symbol. Did the same thing using both the click-on buttons AND the correct keyboard shortcuts (ctrl+F etc.). Ctrl+X,C,V etc. still work fully in book view (probably why I've taken a long time to notice.....) So folks, what little gremlin has crept into the settings and how do I reverse it?? Surely it must be a simple corruption reverting to code view even for current file......??? |

I am sorry that I have to break it to you. This behavior is as expected and designed. It has been like that for quite some time. If I recall correctly, this was implemented at the moment RegEx was introduced. S&R must be done in codeview. The technical reason is that the code is the internal format and bookview just a representation. After all, replacing can very easily corrupt your file by accidentally remove tags.

Thanks Toxaris. Must be old age creeping in!!!!! I must admit that for the occasional job I still use 0.4.2 despite its SEVERE limitations!
So, topic closed I guess!!! Thanks for ultra-quick reply. |

If I search for something in Book View (I had to check it, because I haven't used Book View since Preview Pane came into our lives), it does take me to the exact word I'm searching for, though of course in Code View.
