So last night I converted 2 epubs in Calibre (v 2.3.1) and I have the latest version of the plugin installed also, but when I side loaded them to my Aura HD I don't see any of the kepub-style reading stats -- the page number is 1 of the total number of pages in the book not the chapter and when I hit the %read no bar chart comes up showing the chapters by size like the older ones do.

It's been a while since I set all this up, did I miss a step? I'd really like to get the books to look the way I am used to.

Actually, I removed those books, checked the settings in the plugin and hit APPLY, re-converted and it looks like I'm back in business!

I'm getting database errors upon connect and it appears the root cause is that my Aura HD's SD card is being preferred over the KoboeReader device that is the internal storage.

Is there a way to force one over the other?

That's nothing to do with this driver, but if you can post a debug log perhaps someone can point you in the right direction. Directions for restarting calibre in debug mode are in the first post, what you want to do is disconnect your Aura HD, restart in debug mode, wait for calibre to come up, then connect the reader. Once you see the error, just click OK and then close calibre. You should see the debug log come up in a new window. Paste that here between QUOTE tags, like this:

In Calibe you can just press on sent to device.. but if you select some books and right click with the mouse while on your selection,you can choose where to send it.. (main, card a, card b...)

How did you come to that conclusion? I'm pretty sure that it isn't possible for that to happen. But, can you post the full error message? Without that, there is no way to help. Or the full debug as jgoguen suggested.

Hey, I'm trying to convert some books to .kepub for my Kobo Aura in Calibre, but it fails. I've installed plug-ins specially designed for it. I had success doing it manually by renaming the books with the kepub.epub file extension. So, how can I do that with Calibre?

I have installed the KePub Metadata Reader, the KePub Metadata Write and the KePub Outputs plug-ins. Then I try to convert the books and an error message appears. It's attached below.
Also this is the text that shows at the message: calibre, version 2.42.0 (win32, isfrozen: True)

In "Show Details" it was referring to KOBO16 instead of KOBOeReader, I'll see what I can collect and post. (KOBO16 is my SD card and the internal storage is KOBOeReader)

Based on the errors "Mike the best" is posting, I think the book has invalid character encodings in the XML metadata.

Mike, where did you get that failing book from? Is it just that book or does the same thing happen for other books?

I've tried it so far with two books downloaded from the internet. One was .epub and one was .mobi and I edited their metadata and cover. Also, I had edited the CSS of the .epub and inserted a font to it.

Dear friends/author of the plugin.. is it possible to make an option to delete all xpgt files while transferring the books ?
I do know the modify epub plugin can do it, but that is something you must remember to do... which i often forgot.
It would be so perfect if it could be done while transferring (I use the driver for epubs to so not for kepubs only..)
I do use the extended css, only to find out that a xpgt file overrides it all..
It would be such a great enhancement when you have a choice to remove those stupid files when transferring the book to the reader !!
