Ah yes. Those. I managed to avoid both 50 Shades and Twilight, and I can definitely see how they might become a little too much in larger doses. Or in minor ones, for that matter.

While I certainly don't mind having lots of sex in my books, it needs to be justified sex. As in, it makes sense within the plot and the character context, and isn't just used as filler/crutch to make up for the fact that the book has very little else going for it. If I wanted to be exposed to second rate writers using sex for filler material, I'd watch prime-time TV.

I agree. I got tired of filler sex and no real plot. That's exactly why I started reading other genre's and even non romances. some of my favorite series I started later turned into exactly that. The first few books had a good plot going but it's like the later books became more and more filler.

I'm always in the market for well written serial killer thrillers, so if you know of any, please send them over. (And please not Carolyn McCray.)

And to paraphrase what I said earlier, if I want filler sex without plot, I'll read erotica. Though the line between the two is fine and often blurry, there does need to be something that distinguishes erotic romance from straight up erotica... preferably a solid plot and character development.

Also make sure you don't have a space after the last digit/letter in the code or the site doesn't recognize it as a valid code.

Well, listened to Konrath. And I guess I should say I"m still working my way through the Susan Hill series. They are not happy ending books. But I'm up to date on all the other series.

It was supposedly the first in a "new series". The writer from whom she took an entire book changing only the character names and genders had already written 12 books in a series called "Texas Trouble" and it is quite obvious Ms. Harner had every intention of lifting those. It's easy enough to strip the DRM and email a copy of an ebook if you want to. Normally I would not do that (send a copy via email--I strip the DRM from everything I buy) but I wouldn't have a problem doing that if I had a copy of the requested plagurized book.
