Yes, and that's why I asked if it was possible to have the automatic connection use the sync books option and still have the option to do a regular wireless connect on the menu.

The way it works today is that the automatic connection uses the same "sync books" setting as the last manual connection.

I could change it to do syncing if that is the only enabled connection type. I could also change it to do syncing if that connection type is enabled. What I don't want to do is add yet another option to choose which connection type to use when automatically connecting.

Also note that if you enable automatic connections, the current implementation will continue to attempt automatic connections even if both wireless device connections are disabled.

I am going to leave it as it is for the moment. I need to think about how exactly it should work.

V4.2.8.3:
- Reorganize connection settings into a single preference group
- Add ability to enable/disable individual connection types
- Add settings to limit the maximum height of additional information rows on the book list

This beta has the changes needed to make the "Connect" menu become an action if there is only one connection type enabled.

Works great. One comment. In the settings screen, I think it would be clearer if you indented the two wireless connections a bit. I know what that do, and when I first saw the screen, I thought selecting the second one might overwrite the first one.

How about this?

I changed the indent for all the check boxes on this screen because I thought it looked weird if 2 were indented but the other 2 were not. However, note that the extra indent appears only in this preference screen. I am not changing check boxes in other places, as shown by the second image.

This still doesn't seem clear to me that you can have both on the menu and choose which one you want. I don't have a better wording though.

I will bite: Why do we need the 'Check this box' part on the line with a tick box

@kaufman, @Purple Lady, @theducks: I am going to leave it as it is and see what happens. These are check boxes not radio buttons, so the usual semantics are that they are independent. The user can easily see what happens by checking one or both of them.

Of course I reserve the right to change my mind if a sufficient number of people get confused.

And, check this box to have calibre send the book file to CC when the book file in calibre is newer than the one in CC. NB: the connection process will be slower when this option is used.

Beginning a sentence with "And" is acceptable these days, especially in something such as this. But, you used the word 'check' in context of the 'box' and in context of the 'dates', that could be a bit confusing, and I'm not sure its necessary. If it is, then I suggest using 'compare' in respect of the dates.

Note the lack of a divider line between the two items - if that's possible
