Yaretzki: in my books setting fonts as "default" made them not to be changeable (in epubs converted to AZW3s I was also unable to change font on Kindle PW2, so most probably it is intentional), but removing the "default" part in the font reference part of the css helped the issue, though it requires some epub editing, but this way you can keep original formatting, but can change the font. (Recently I had no such book, so I don't remember exactly.)

Hi Ebri,

Yes, I've found it as well. To remove default font makes it possible to change font in koreader while still keeping book style.

Now my painpoint with koreader is battery consumption.
When I've left KOBO in koreader in suspend consuption during night was 7-9%. When I've left KOBO in koreader in suspend + sleepcover closed consumption during night was 70%.

I'm looking for some information and solutions to fix it if possible.

If any of you are interested, please see Can we please have a separate forum section for Koreader? and add your support to that thread.

Do you use Kobo start menu? In that you can turn off the constantly running app to avoid crash (I also don't remember the name...) The other thing I did was overwriting koreader suspend.sh with the one in coolreader (which I forgot in the most recent update and it still consumes daily 10-15%).

One thing that helps is to learn to use both suspend and power off. Suspend for a short time and power off for any extended period. I find it easy to poke the file icon, to return to the File Manager, then poke the Home Icon to return to KSM, then I can use KSM's Power Off.

Going from the reader to the File Manager insures that everything is saved at that point, including highlights.

Luck;
Ken

Yes, I'm using KSM. I've already found suggestion to copy suspend.sh from coolreader and overwrite the one in koreader folder.
I'm testing now this solution. So far it is OK:
- KOBO (WiFi off) in suspend mode, in koreader by pressing button of device, sleep cover open: battery consumption during night 1%
- KOBO (WiFi off) in suspend mode as above but sleep cover closed: consumption during night 1%
Today I'm going to test: KOBO in suspend in koreader but only by closing sleep cover.

Use Acrobat on PC (or Mac) to split the file in two or more parts.

Hey everybody,
I cannot find a way to tell Koreader not to go standby mode when closing the magnet cover. It just goes to standby mode, and to my astonishment sometimes wakes up while the cover is still on it! So I want to override this automatic procedure and do the job by means of the good red button.

You can control the sleep cover functionality from Kobo Nickel. Loosely translated from Dutch: Options>Standby and Energy>Sleep cover.

The latest Koreader had an increase in default cache size. (See the discussion here.). It increased it to 80MB. As Kobo Aura's have 512MB, there is certainly room for an even larger cache. You could try changing it to 120MB in defaults.lua.

There is a 2 second pause being added to the suspend script, that should fix that sort of thing. (You can add it yourself and see if that does what you want.) It will probably be a few days before a release with the change.

Today, I discovered a strange feature about Koreader.
I had bougt used Kobo Glo last week. And it sometimes was being frozen after half an hour later or 5 minutes later. Then factory reset and I downgrade to 3.13.1 but frozen again.

Finally, I set up Koreader, and no freezing while koreader kernel.
Then I passed to nickel kernal 3.13 to use, no freezing.

Again, factory reset and install 3.18, frozen again,
install koreader no frozen, and nickel kernel no frozen 3.18
It is really incredible.

For splitting PDFSAM (Split and Merge) is cheaper. I had no issues with splitting by it.

I'm viewing a 2 column PDF but the option for columns is grayed out in KOReader (latest nightly). Why is that? It's not yet incorporated in the Kobo version? (I guess it is!)
