I know that karma seems silly, but it is encouraging. More importantly, it is a way of saying "thanks" to people who deserve it.

The questing is, is that basic Kindle going to go on sale for lower during Black Friday week? Does anyone remember the history of last year?

Staples last year was giving away Free Basic Kindles with the purchase of a PC. Other wise the basic was $49. Best Buy also had them for $49.

Good to know! Not sure if I would get one, but would want the lowest price! My son uses an old Kobo Touch, but I haven't decided if I should replace it or not, or with what.

I'm fairly certain we'll see better deals this holiday season. Just a few days before Christmas last year, I bought a Kindle 7th Gen ($80 retail) from Staples for $29 after sale price and $30 online rebate.

I don't remember the specifics, but there were a lot of deals that didn't get the best price on Black Friday. I *think* they did put ONE of the models on sale for BF, but not all of them. I was waiting for something or other and expected BF to be the best day and it wasn't. This year I have my price points and I'll take them if I see them (especially on thing like Depositphotos. Last year they had a 50 percent off and I manage to miss it. They don't tell their associates the best deals because they don't want to also pay an associate fee so those go out to certain people direct or can be found on their blog.)

Outside of the Staples $29 Christmas deal (see my previous post), $49 was the best deal during Black Friday. The biggest problem is knowing when to buy. Any more, BF won't necessarily have the best prices. That can happen anytime during the holiday season (Nov ~ Dec).

Dell Home BF ad just dropped. They'll have several blocks of doorbusters starting at different times. Be sure to note the time for the deals you want. Here are a few examples:

Thu 26 Nov at 6pm EST

$150 -- Inspiron 14 3000 Series Laptop ($300 retail)
$300 -- Xbox One w/ extra controller + Gears of War + Fallout 4 ($470 retail)

Fri 27 Nov at 12am EST

$300 -- Inspiron 11 3000 Series Laptop ($650 retail)
$100 -- Inspiron Micro Desktop ($200 retail)

It might be this one; although, it might be a special configuration just for BF. It doesn't have a very good rating, only 2.7 / 5. Regardless, expect this PC to sell out fast.
