MOBI file being saved to disk as EPUB file
For whatever reason, my MOBI-formatted book shows as being a MOBI file, but when I save it to disk, it is being saved as an EPUB file. Can someone please tell me what it is I'm doing wrong? I've been using Calibre for a while now, but this is the first time I've actually formatted a book, readied it for publishing, and tried to save it to disk for posting.

There must be a setup controlling this but you could always simply open the book's folder from within calibre and then copy the mobi file to wherever you want.

Use the Arrow next to the Save to Disc Icon (last item)

IIRC STD uses the Preferred output Setting in Preferences: Behavior
