And going back to Baen, one of Lois Bujold's publishers Aha. My present from UPS today was a box of my author's copies of the upcoming Baen reprint of Shards of Honor, due to hit stores November 3rd, straight from the printer. A slim but very clean trade paperback. |

And back to Lois "wants is to have her reprinted books recognised". Next up is Cetaganda https://www.goodreads.com/author_blo...veal-cetaganda The Great Key. |

I just wish McMaster Bujold had nice covers for her books... The ones in post #3 aren't much better than her other, very cringeworthy covers... |

Very nice, especially given the underlying plot. I wish she would do another Cetaganda story. Maybe featuring Miles' kids.

And Shards of Honor https://www.goodreads.com/author_blo...hards-of-honor 'It took several passes to come up with this one -- the first three not-there-yet style-mock-ups, plus another this 4th series. Saw this one, laughed, and thought "I have to have this." I am not at all sure how Ron came up with it -- it was a surprise to me. I have no idea what potential readers will make of it, but it certainly sums up something essential about the relationship between the two main characters at one glance. "The outward and visible form of an inward and invisible grace", to paraphrase.' |

and Diplomatic Immunity https://www.goodreads.com/author_blo...matic-immunity 'I think of this as "The Creepy Babies Cover". So very apropos to the book -- almost a spoiler -- although it's also the one I'm most uncertain about in terms of customer response. ' It is less alarming at a smaller magnification. Which is mostly how it will appear, on the vendor sites. (I have added the very busy Baen cover.) |

That does seem like one of the dominant criteria for the new covers... Might start a trend of thumbnail-focused designs. |

'Warrior's Apprentice' is such a generic name I want something more specific to let browsers know this is Space Opera not Fantasy or Historical or ... just about any genre. Especially since its a gateway novel.

The idea is that the cover art will tell readers it's part of a series AND SF. Last edited by Little.Egret; 10-16-2015 at 04:29 PM.
