Oh yes, an Autumn Sale.

The Once and Future King is £1.99.

And the second and third Lost Fleet series are on offer for £0.99 per book. I got the first six when they were on special offer a while back, and they were solid 4 star reads for me. I don't think I can resist the next eight at the same great price.

I have to remind everybody - in Canada at least - that The Once and Future King is still in the public domain there, and available for free download. Until the Trans-Pacific Partnership kicks in anyway.

Not that I would *ever* for one *moment* encourage readers in the UK and other jurisdictions to schlepp over to another country's website outside the remit of their own copyright regime, and download a public domain free version of the same work ...

That's good to hear, because you would be immediately and permanently banned from MR should you be unwise enough to encourage people to pirate books.

What's the policy on explaining how people can buy ebooks either not available or are much more expensive in their country, by buying the books from a retailer in another country?

Sabriel (The Old Kingdom Book 1)
by Garth Nix

is $1.99 at Amazon

http://www.amazon.com/Sabriel-Old-Ki...ywords=Sabriel

Below is the blurb:
Game of Thrones fans will love the New York Times bestselling Abhorsen series. Sabriel, the first installment in the trilogy, launched critically acclaimed author Garth Nix onto the fantasy scene as a rising star.

Since childhood, Sabriel has lived outside the walls of the Old Kingdom, away from the power of Free Magic, and away from the Dead who refuse to stay dead. But now her father, the Abhorson, is missing, and Sabriel must cross into that world to find him. With Mogget, whose feline form hides a powerful, perhaps malevolent spirit, and Touchstone, a young Charter Mage, Sabriel travels deep into the Old Kingdom. There she confronts an evil that threatens much more than her life and comes face-to-face with her own hidden destiny. . . .

Thanks, I read a Garth Nix short story in a short story collection (one of the Sir Hereward and Mister Fitz stories) and enjoyed it. Been meaning to try one of his full books.

Anyone planning to get the full StoryBundle above?

I'm thinking of getting it, but I don't want to be the only one who admits to being twisted!

If it helps push you over the edge, Mammoth Dawn (from the bonus books) will set you back $6 at Smashwords all by itself.

EDIT: Okay, I got the bundle.

I'm plenty twisted, but...

I've already got half of the three books on there that definitely interest me. (Yes, half. I have three of the Dan Shamble stories that make up Working Stiff, as separate volumes.) Working Stiff and Enter the Janitor should be couponable at Kobo, so I can go that route at any time. The Love-Haight book looks interesting, and at the $5 minimum price I could see getting the base-level bundle for that and Working Stiff, but it's just not worth the $15 minimum for me to go for the bonus tier.

Pretty outstanding Kindle Daily Deal in the UK today, including two 2015 books from my wishlist:

(All £1.99)

Luna: New Moon - Ian McDonald - This only came out a month ago, and is normally an eye-watering £10.99.
House of Shattered Wings - Aliette de Bodard

Also some epic fantasy:

Mistborn: The Final Empire - Brandon Sanderson
Name of the Wind - Pat Rothfuss
The Blade Itself - Joe Abercrombie
Before They Are Hanged - Joe Abercrombie
Last Argument of Kings - Joe Abercrombie
Best Served Cold - Joe Abercrombie
Red Country - Joe Abercrombie

Also:

Crashing Heaven - Al Robertson
The Gospel of Loki - Joanne Harris

and other stuff I'm less familiar with. Plenty of Joe Hill, a Charlaine Harris, a Nalini Singh.

I'm sure there weren't that many when I looked this morning, but I've just picked up another one from my wishlist (Retribution Falls by Chris Wooding).

I suspect it's related to the Gollancz Fest online event that Gollancz are running, which has just started.

Edit: I think I just missed the full list, and only looked at the ones at the top of the page. There are quite a few more tempting books in that list (and quite a few that I already own and paid more for). This could be expensive. I did wonder why The Heroes was missing for Abercrombie, but in fact it isn't missing, it's just not in the thing at the top.
