How much was it? I am using Straight Talk which is $45 for Unlimited Talk and Text with 5GB of Data on BYOP which the Fire Phone qualifies as. However I am all for a cheaper plan.

Puretalkusa
I don't think it gets much cheaper than Puretalk, starting from $5 per month for 80 minutes talk/text, and $20/month for 1GB data for an emergency phone or other low usage.

I use cricket with unlimited phone and text and unlimited data for $35. First 2.5 gig are LTE speed and then its throttled, but still works. I can use lots of sites even after the 2.5 gig so I am never out of data. Uses ATT network, they own it now.

Also with Cricket with two phones (there's a $5 discount there). The voice mail isn't as slick as it was with my previous provider, but I don't get a lot of calls.

Looks like it's actually $40 for that plan if you don't enroll in autopay. $25 activation discounted to $9.99 if you go through the web to activate.

I considered other providers, but didn't want to pay activation. So I just changed my plan with GoPhone. No activation fee. I get unlimited talk & text. I get 1.5 GB data. With auto pay, it's $40 a month.

I didn't have any activation fee at the time I did it online. I got a phone, transferred my number from gophone. We did another one for a stepdaughter, but different account. Yes, its autopay, you get a $5 credit in the account a few days before it charges. Its worth to do auto for me to save those $5.
It was just the cheapest I could find while being reliable and easy to use. I also needed a phone since I only had a dumb one at the time. I think the 9.99 is for the sim card if you bring your own phone. Since I bought one from cricket online, sim was free. Nice phone too, MotoG. Don't think they have it anymore. I think if I need a new phone in the future, I just have to stick the sim into it, assuming its the same size. From what I understand they regularly have the sim on sale for like 99 cents for the bring your own. I am just glad to have the security now with a reliable phone and plan. I had to drive around a lot this year from doc to doc and some of the areas have bad coverage and I have no sense of directions. I can pull up a map whenever I need. I can't deal with talking GPS thingies as I only drive back roads, not highways. If I hadn't had a phone already, the Fire phone sure would have been nice too. But I only need one. |

My phone every night stops working around 9 and the only way to get working again is to send a text. No one can call or text. I don't get texts and all incoming calls go to voicemail.
I think I may have too many texts which are freezing the phone app. I need an app to export my text messages to a file. Any suggestions? |

That sounds more like the Parental Controls.

We will see if it's fix tonight. I got the texts exported. All 1289 of them. Texts now send instantly instead of being delayed.
I found an app on Google Play called SMS Backup & Restore that works perfectly with the Fire Phone. |

Thanks for that idea on the backup app. This Moto is my first smart phone and so I never texted before. Not that I really text a lot now, but I do get a lot of notices on stuff and such. I don't even know how many I have, doesn't really say in my app. I use the hangout one for now. But maybe I just need to dump them off. Where does it export them too?

In a folder on the phone. I then upload the file to Dropbox. It has a auto feature to do that but you have to download a plugin which I didn't want to do. What I like is it has its own viewer so after I export the texts I can view them even thought they are no longer in the original texting app.
My husband and I text alot. He texts me on breaks and lunchtime and I text him when I need something or just want to share something. So I had all my texts from December 2014 till present on the text app. Now they are backed up and put into a xml file that can be viewed on the backup app's viewer. I look at those texts like a diary between the two of us. You do want to save all MMS attachments separately. It does not seem to back those up. I saved all photos before I deleted the texts. Hubby will be at the store and see something that he thinks I need to see and sends me a photo of it. Sometimes he will take a pic of a whole display of items then send it to me and ask me to pick one. lol. I love technology! ![]() |

I'm doing a factory reset. If that doesn't fix it. It must be on StraightTalk's end.

Factory reset didn't fix it. I like the new changes of the update I got when I did a factory reset and my phone feels new again.
Monday I will be contacting Straight Talk. The problem must be on their end. |
