Well, considering that posts on forums tend to be more negative (if only because people vary rarely feel the need to point out something works fine ;-) ) I thought I'd post my negative feeling on the H20 And it is: Damn my acid sweat for marking the bezel! Apart from that, I think this is an awesome device. My wife occidentally scratched the screen on my Aura and bought me this H20 (considering I was lusting after one) as an early Xmas pressy. Its bloody awesome. Seriously, the bezel and the soft rubber feel is my only complaint. I know I have pretty acidic sweat (I play guitar and I am resigned to only a handful of brands because I can kill some sets in a day). So I think a trip to Decalgirl will be on the cards ;-) The screen is gorgeous. Absolutely spectacular clarity. The backlight is clear and consistent, and its great to be able to read in the bath without the paranoia of falling asleep while reading costing me a packet ;-) And with the Aura, I think a screen protector will negate most of the issue so I will probably ask my wife does she want to swap her Glo for it. Its smaller and lighter and as she has spinal issues she may find it easier... But I just wanted to add a little positivity. Kobo, this is great! Last edited by Desdinova; 10-14-2015 at 06:28 AM. |

Hmm, my negative side on the H2O is that I now want to go to my mother's and show it off to her, in her swimming pool (I'll have to wait till June before I can do that, though...) I bought it mostly because I want to read while taking a bath. While I already have been reading electronic devices for ages (even while taking a bath), it never felt comfortable (too afraid to make it wet to really read comfortably). When I took a bath after receiving the device, the first thing I did was dunking it... Just because I could |

The rubber-like feel of the case material is one of the things I like about my old Glo. I don't know if it is the same with the H2O, but when my Glo was brand new the bezel had a fine powdery coating. It looked terrible for a week or so until the coating wore off with use, but after that it was fine, fingerprints hardly show at all now. |

But as the coating wears its looking more 'marbled' now. | |

The marbled look is why I got a black matte skin from decalgirl. Now my H2O looks like a plain black ereader with no branding or odd discolorations. It's still got the firm grip on the back so I think that's more the nature of the material rather than just the texture.

Glad you're enjoying your H2O so much Desdinova. I know I really, really like mine.

I finally figured out what is missing on the H2O... You can load the books wireless, but you can't charge wireless! Add a wireless component and you won't ever need to open that USB compartment! |

Agreed. If Kobo could take a lead off Sony and use a similar waterproof capless usb port would be a good compromise tho ;-)

You can use a QI charging _USB adapter and then seal the compartment with silicon. I am able to charge one of my Aura HDs that way. Luck; Ken Last edited by Ken Maltby; 10-20-2015 at 02:11 PM. |

I think the H2O it won't be water resistant with the QI charger, but is a great idea after all! The receiver can glued on the back of the device, but the miniUSB cord must be plugged in and the port will be opened, unless if someone can sealed permanently the port/cord with silicone and stays that way, losing the ability to reset or changing the SD card... |

Love my H20 as well. The screen is lovely, I prefer it to my Mum's Paperwhite because it's more of a "paper" colour. The Kindle had a very white-blue, clinical light. Whereas my Kobo is a pleasant natural (more yellow) tone. And I love long baths. Not having to worry about it getting dunked (or even dripped on a lot) is great. The bezel doesn't seem to have so many issues for me. It gets fingerprints, but a quick wipe clears them off, and the only time it's not in a case is when I'm in the bath. I'm paranoid about breaking the screen, like I did with my previous two kindles. |

I was just wondering, how do people who have actually put H2O on a good test for its water proofness, compare this for me: If only water proofness is important for you (not being frontlit), how do you compare having a Kobo inside a waterproof cover AND Kobo Aura H2O? Let me know please as personal and as detailed as you can. Thanks. |
