I now have iOS 9 and El Capitan installed on all my gadgets. I haven't noticed any issues yet. So far I like the minor improvements. I am glad that Notes got an upgrade so that the iOS version has more capability now.

@Jack... my mini (same as yours, bottom of the line, late 2012 wth that 500GB 5400rpm slow as a wet week drive and upgraded to 16GB RAM) seems to like El Cap better than Yosemite. I want to put an SSD in at some point but have baulked at pulling it to bits to achieve that.

Safari pages seem to load faster with El Capitan. They removed the Secure Empty Trash option. Everything seems to be syncing properly between my Mac and iOS devices.

I have 2009 MacBook Pro, 8GB, no issues so far. Hmm, need to check the Wacom tablet, though. I don't use any Apple services or apps to speak of so cannot report on those.

Apparently the Secure Empty Trash feature never worked reliably on SSDs.

Sounds like we have the same Mac Mini. I wish they still sold the Mini where you could easily upgrade the RAM yourself which is what I did, but now a days they solder it in. I might update it to run El Capitan. I use it mostly with Windows 10 installed via Boot Camp though. I need a Windows computer for programming my amateur radios (ham) as well as rig control. Not too many apps for that available on Mac OS X. I use the MBP for the heavy lifting and it has El Capitan installed.

A couple of days ago we upgraded our 2010 mac mini to 8 GB ram with an SSD. Total cost was $150 and it is a completely different machine. I like iLife 09 (when iMovie used to work well) so I just kept it with Mountain Lion. I'm using it to pull 33 Hi8 videos and it works like a champ (it has firewire which I connect the Digital8 camcorder directly to). I don't think any of our machines will be upgraded to el Capitan. The 27 imac is still on Mavericks.

I'd appreciate it if we could please confine the discussion in this thread to iOS 9, rather than branching off into discussion of Mac operating systems.

Thanks.

I discovered this "message download" issue on my iPad yesterday with my POP mail account. I had to turn off the setting to delete items from the server on my Mac. Now I can read the message on my iPad.

Normally I would agree, but since El Capitan and iOS 9 are designed to run with and compliment each other while seemlessly sharing info, I see no issue here. You really cannot discuss one without opening up the discourse to both. Both were released about the same time and both interact so much with the other that issues from one can impact the other.

They complement each other. But I don't own a mac so that is of small concern for me even tho I used iOS 9.

Many of us are both iOS and Mac users.

After I upgraded to iOS 9 on all of my devices, I noticed that my messages on my Mac stopped syncing with iCloud. I wish I had realized that would be an impact in advance. I had to update to El Capitan on my Mac to fix it. Normally I would not have upgraded to the next OS X so soon. Luckily there don't appear to be any major bugs with the initial release.

Each OS X has become more integrated with iOS because of handoff and cloud syncing. I believe it is important to know that changes in iOS 9 could impact your total workflow on all of your products.

The issue I discovered with POP mail messages not been downloaded and getting a server error on iOS devices because of a setting on Mail on my Mac is another good example.

Branching it off into another thread might be a good thing to do...

I don't see why we don't have an OS X prefix here. I think it's reasonable since we have iBooks, iBooks Author, Office for Mac, and Windows itself has its own section. A Mac is still an "Apple device".

I think it's appropriate to have interconnected discussion between iOS and OS X in the same thread.

I also think it is appropriate to have random discussion about OS X on a separate thread if it has nothing to do with iOS 9.
