The weeklong sale from DC is disappointing in that it's only a handful of collections, and pretty much all of them were on sale in singles form recently. The only new to sale-dom books are a few of the older Green Arrow books.
https://www.comixology.com/Green-Arr...Sale/page/8349

Another Top Shelf sale, also ending 10/12/15, has 23 very good collections and an amazing bargain bundle.
https://www.comixology.com/Top-Shelf-Sale/page/8354

I particularly recommend the Motorcycle Samurai bundle. Only $3.99 and what I've read so far is amazing. Two freebies are in that bundle, so check them out if you need convincing.

Lots of free comics

I feel like I've been fairly vigilant about free comics since this thread began, but I just got 50 free comics I didn't have (and wanted) after looking at the several hundred here: http://comixologyfree.tumblr.com/.

I had over 80 in my card before I realized that many of them were previews...just a quick warning for those like me with click-itis - Watch the titles!

So far I still have like 60 left after removing the previews, but I can see this is going to get me in trouble. May have to come to it later so I don't try to scroll through the entire list at once.

Dark Horse singles are finally at Comixology; but I'm still not buying anything there until they merge accounts. Stuff is cheaper at Dark Horse Digital and I have too much invested over there to re-buy anything at Comixology.

New sale from Marvel on the Original Sin mini and crossovers, unknown duration, 60 singles at $.99 each.
https://www.comixology.com/Original-Sin-Sale/list/8538

New collection sale at Comixology on sixteen Iron Man books, unknown duration, up to 80% off.
https://www.comixology.com/Iron-Man-...-Off/list/8566

Viz has Naruto on sale at Comixology, including a complete bundle for $229.99, and smaller bundles and single books.

If any comics-loving fellow Canadian-or-Canada-resident-expat MR members would like to have a free UltraViolet copy of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns: Deluxe Edition from the DC Animated Original Movie series based on the Frank Miller Elseworlds, I have a spare redemption code which needs to be used up by October 8th.

This will only work for someone in Canada, with a Canadian address-registered account for UltraViolet and Flixster.

Anyway, please PM me if interested.

I've been overwhelmed with deadlines and whatnot, so I didn't get the chance to say how much I enjoyed 52. Well, it's been a while since I read it and probably nobody is interested, so I'll just say that from now on I'll gladly read any recommendation by ATDrake. And my kid is obsessed with Tiny Titans, so that makes two of us. I am sure my toddler will join the club in a few years.

I am having a great time getting to know the DC Universe. I've read some awesome comics: All-Star Superman, DC: The New Frontier, Batman: Year 100...

Unfortunately, Comixology has retired its Windows app and now us Windows users (I can't be the only one, right?) will have to content ourselves with their "great web experience". Apparently they announced this in September, but I only found out recently because the 4-year-old tablet I was using to read my comics from Comixology finally bit the dust, so I went ahead and reinstalled their awful app on my Surface hoping this time it would work a little bit longer. I wish I had known before that Batman sale. I wasn't expecting having to read those comics on my web browser. The app was awful, but at least it allowed me to read offline.

And in my case that "great web experience" gets completely ruined because every single time I go to the next panel or next page the navigation menu shows up. And those arrows are huge and sometimes get in the way of text.

I know this is no big deal, as I'll eventually buy a cheap Android tablet (or, who knows, an iPad), but it really irks me that they treat their customers this poorly.

They offered a $5 credit to their Windows customers, but I guess I didn't qualify because I didn't have the app installed when they made the announcement.

Of course we don't need convincing, silly.

It might be disappointing, but in my brief but already painful experience going broke because of Comixology sales, it is the first time I see a sale like this one. When I see collections on sale from either Marvel or DC, it's usually only the first volume of a series or several scattered volumes related to an event or a character (like the current Iron Man sale). I have the impression they use cheap collections to lure people to the rest of the series. This is the first time I see 5 collected editions from the same series on sale at the same time (only the 6th and most recent volume is not discounted). I guess this might be the best chance for a newcomer to catch up.

On the other hand, Image collections are slightly more expensive than single issues when on sale, and they don't seem to offer any bonus material (I wish Image offered better descriptions of their contents; sometimes they don't even mention which issues are included), so I wonder what's the point of these collections. I think I am missing something.

By the way, I just saw that Kieron Gillen (the writer of the excellent The Wicked + The Divine) has written a couple of the Iron Man collections on sale right now. They became more tempting all of a sudden.

I just picked up 17 new freebies at Comixology's Free Comics page, by clicking "select all". YMMV. https://www.comixology.com/free-comics.

You might want to take a look at that new Amazon Fire 7" tablet that's just $50. It's not the greatest tablet ever, but the price is great and it's probably a lot better than some cheap Chinese import Android tablet would be. There also might be a sale on it between now and Christmas, although this is less likely with it being so cheap to start with.

Thank you. We already own a first-generation Kindle Fire and it gets used by all of us. I was interested in a bigger screen (out of the new Kindle Fires, the 7" model is the only one available in Spain). I wouldn't even consider a cheap Chinese import, and I've ruled out all cheap Android tablets with acceptable 10.1" screens, as I just discovered that Microsoft Office is free in tablets whose screens are smaller than 10". And having a tablet with MS Office can come in handy for my job. So it will be a 9.7". And it could be both my Christmas and birthday present, so I doesn't have to be so cheap.

Still, I haven't decided I will buy a tablet just yet.

Back on topic, is Image the best comic book publisher in the business right now? Almost every single item I look in this damned sale is quite tempting.

New freebie at Dark Horse.
https://digital.darkhorse.com/profil...cters-sampler/

Some of the many freebies at Dark Horse are now in the freebie list at Comixology too. Hitting "add all" will probably get you some new ones.

A new DC bundle for NYCCC is intriguing. It's basically the first or current issue of their entire line-up. 47 books for $54.99, ends 10/11/15.
https://www.comixology.com/DC-Comics...le/bundle/1098

Another Walking Dead sale, this one ends 10/12/15 and includes 23 mostly $5.99 collections and 141 $.99 singles.
https://www.comixology.com/The-Walki...Sale/page/8400

That Original Sin sale ends 10/11/15.

Another sale on Uber from Avatar. This series is now complete, all 29 singles are at $.99 each, and there is a $19.99 bundle. I should have waited for the bundle. Sale ends 10/18/15.

Marvel Monday is on Angela: Asgard's Assassin; her six issue mini and issues 622-655 and 626.1 of Journey into Mystery.

New sale from IDW on comics related to games; 18 collections for $2.99 to $5.99, ends 10/19/15, includes things like Dungeons & Dragons, Angry Birds, and Silent Hill.
https://www.comixology.com/IDW-Game-Sale/page/8445

The weeklong sale from DC is a great one; collections of a bunch of great Vertigo titles like Preacher, 100 Bullets, Hellblazer, Transmetropolitan, Y the Last Man, and American Vampire. They call it their Vertigo 101 sale and it ends 10/19/15. I guess I need to pick up some overtime; 101 $4.99 collections of some of the best that comic books have to offer.
