But why there specially? Wouldn't it make more sense to put it into the settings dialog or the connections dialog if there is some reason not to put it into the settings? It's not like the filename template has anything to do with book details.

If anything, I could imagine swapping the Settings line with the Choose items to display line but brings up the muscle memory issue: it feels to me that changing the position where people are used to tapping is a significant negative. |

Well, send to and oopen with are the only ones related to using the book file with another app, so it feels like they go toegether for me.
I'm not sure I buy the muscle memory argument in this case. Do people really do much with the menu other than the send to and now the open with? Most of the others are one shots or once in a whiles. One the other hand, in an almost daily use of CC over the last year or so, I've only been in this menu a handful of times, so this is all academic to me anyhow. |

Same here. I bought my first Android tablet just so I could beta test this app before it was first released because I knew with Charles creating it the app would fit my needs.

I finally tested, thanks for the open book with and fixing the white on white problem. I have a black on black problem on my T62 when a book gets sent automatically using the Reading List plug-in. I'm not sure when it started, but it was there in 4.2.4.

Any idea what the dialog should be saying? Is it the sending books progress dialog? Reading list doesn't do anything special, so the problem should also occur whenever you do the "same thing" manually.

I have fixed it so that the progress information shows properly. I am still trying to work out how to display the dialog title. I suppose that if push comes to shove, the dialog title can stay hard to read. Interesting that this doesn't happen on my Afterglow 2. ![]() |

Isn't the Afterglow an Onyx device? Something actually works better on Onyx than a Boyue device? ![]() ![]() |

TBH I prefer the Afterglow to the Boyue T62+ (in my case rebranded by Energy Systems). The afterglow is lighter and thinner, which is important for me because I carry it in my pocket. I see no difference in WiFi or app performance. Battery life is very good once I installed the latest Android update. On the other hand, the carta screen on the Boyue is better than the pearl screen on the Afterglow, and the Afterglow's small amount of app memory is a pain, but that is helped by the new firmware that lets apps move to internal user memory. Oddly enough, the newest Onyx reader, the inkBOOK, is a rebranded Boyue T62+. ![]() The Afterglow didn't have the black-on-black problem for whatever reason. It is now fixed on the Boyue. |

Thanks for implementing "Open book with...". Tried it out this morning and it works wonderfully well on my Samsung Tab S tablet.
Regarding its position in the book menu, I find it easy to use at the bottom of the menu. But given it's a feature I'll use only for those infrequent times I want to try a different reader I'm not going to use it often enough that the position in the menu will affect me too much. Thanks again! Cheers, Simon. |

You made a suggestion on the wish list thread to use long-press of the Read action bar item to choose a reader. That is a good idea to have in addition to the menu item. Unfortunately Android makes it very hard to receive long-press events on menus, so it won't happen. ![]() |
