If the new goldsmith in town is named Sauron, you might want to stay clear. His jewelry might drive you mad.

A fictional character I'd like next door? Maybe Mary Poppins? I'm feeling bored today Mary, how about an adventure? Same thing for Merlin from Once and Future King.

Don't take this wrong Hamlet, but I wouldn't want you next door, I'm afraid.

Quite a lot of them. Characters in books are interesting people who live in interesting times. Interesting times are best enjoyed from a great distance.

Perhaps Rincewind would make a good neighbor then? He shares your interests it would seem, and all signs indicate the Lady has lost interest in him.

Oh, this is hilarious! Yes, I totally agree about Sherlock. He's such a know it all. Reminds me of my brother.
![]() I also think Jack Reacher would be kind of annoying. You'd invite him over for dinner, but never know if his 3 days in town was up! Gone, like the wind. Then there are those characters I'd like to meet. But wouldn't necessarily want them to hang around. Mama Hog from Frank Tuttle's Markhat books. Is she really that strange? And does the bird rattle thing she carries around smell bad because it's been called a "Dead owl or whatever" and things like that. But I'd kind of like to meet her. Once. Agreed on the Stephanie Plum--NO, you cannot borrow my car. In fact, do not stand too close to it!!! I would enjoy meeting Vicky Bliss (Elizabeth Peters is the author) and Amelia Peabody. What a load of fun that would be!!! |
