weired screen off/lock behavior

hi,

i'd wanted to install a touch softkey to turn off the screen.

at once to save the hardware button and on the otherside, cause it's more convenient.

But i found out that pretty much all the apps that are offered just send the m96 shortly into screenoff and wake up again imediately.

any ideas ?

the interesting thing is i found one app called "button savior"
id does the job, but need way too much memory and cpu to use
