Kindle Fire Book Cover

Hi everyone, I have a Kindle Fire that does not recognize the book cover on some of my ebooks. Can anyone help me on this please? Thanks in advance.

By the way, I use calibre in putting ebooks on my kindle.

The only workaround, still, is to sideload a cover manually (as noted, calibre does this on E-Ink devices).

In theory, you should be able to generate thumbnails on a KFire as well, but I have no idea where those thumbnails are stored...

I often get white rectangles instead of a book cover on my Fires, this is usually because the image used for the cover isn't large enough. Try enlarging the image and reconverting the file and sending it to your Fire again.

Now you don't say what generation Kindle Fire you own. If it's the very first one then if the cover is too large and you have to make the cover smaller but on the newer Kindles from 2013 and up the problem became the opposite. It usually means the cover is too small or the wrong size when they don't show up. I use 1066x1600 now and it always shows up.

When I upgraded from the very first Fire I had to literally redo every cover to the new size to get them to show up because I had shrunken them so they would display on my old Fire. Don't you just love Amazon?

Thank you for your replies.

To answer Blossom's query, mine is the older version of Kindle Fire. I have checked my cover sizes and they range from 175 x 288 (smallest) to 929 x 1500 being the largest and they show in the books folder except for 2 books (so far) which only show a "white rectangle".

I'm really getting frustrated on this one so any assistance/suggestion will be appreciated.

If it is a Kindle Fire v1 once you change the cover size you also have to reconvert the book and change the title or you can clear the data in the Kindle app to get it to regenerate covers if my memory serves me correctly.

As Blossom said change the cover size and reconvert the file, then delete your current file from your Kindle and Amazon, if it's in the cloud, then resend the book to your Kindle. Hopefully now the cover will show.
