Yeah...
And oh great... I jut noticed that iTunes Radio no longer has a stations list! Just recently played. I don't know if that was I change in 8.4, since I never updated to that, but it's yet another reason to use third party stuff. |

You can still search as normal, and whatever you played shows up in a recently played list. Right below the obnoxiously large Beats One logo.

Is anyone having issues updating apps? My Air says 19 updates are available but when I g to the update page the Update All is greyed out and the apps say Open not Update. I updated all the apps via iTunes last night then synced the Air but it didn't update the Air.
I'm still on 8.4.1, not updated to 9 yet |

Split screen? That sounds nice, I'll have to look it up. I'm waiting a few weeks before upgrading my iPhone 6+ though. And I'm not sure the iPad will bear it. I think it's an original iPad Air.

My updates list has been funky, too.
One other report so far of the backup being deleted during the upgrade. This, I think, could be a potentially serious problem. Also, having to redo an entire backup afterward could be a bandwidth issue as well. Not to mention it has got to be adding to the congestion on Apple's servers. That's their issue, but would still make things slow for the end users. I submitted a bug report to Apple about the backup. I'm a real stickler for backups and I do not like having had mine deleted like that. |

I agree. Generally speaking one of the big drawbacks of iThingies is that I don't feel my data is safe. It's very difficult to keep track of where your important data is, as it's stored "inside" individual apps and you have to remember which app it's in to access it or back it up. I have recently lost files because I deleted the app they were in (I guess at the time I didn't feel they were worth the trouble of backing them up individually).

Personally, I think the software team that does the iTunes app are a bunch of morons. iTunes has never worked well nor consistently. I tried a wire backup this morning between my iPhone 6+ and MacBook Pro and got a stupid error message saying backup failed due to iPhone losing connection. Seriously? It is plugged into the computer! Cleared the error message and the backup continued. It took forever to complete, but it always does with all my iThingie devices. And why the heck do you have to back up the apps? They come from the Apple store, shouldn't they be simply downloadable again if they get trashed? Not well thought out at all Apple! Should only need to backup settings and data. Stupid to take 10 minutes to backup a bunch of easily available apps. And when the backup was finished it was listed as having been done on September 18 at 3:02pm, but it was actually September 17 at 9:28am. WTF Apple, can't you even get the frigging time right?!?

I've been using iTunes on Windows for many years, and I like it a lot. Never had a problem, other than one upgrade which failed to install due to a bug in the installation package. I like it a lot. Perhaps the Mac version is buggier?

Can't you choose not to back up the apps? There is a dialog box but I always choose yes. I like having a backup of my apps in case an upgrade goes wrong. I restored the old version of an app recently when I didn't like the upgrade.

Installing iOS9 to iPhone 6+ now. Well at least it is DLing, I think. Typical crappy iTunes not showing any DL status at all, so I have no clue if it is working or not. I'm not going to install 9 on my iPad Mini Retina original. I'm afraid that it would slow down too much.

I thought the opposite might be true, since it kind of made sense that Apple would be better at developing for Mac. I've been using iTunes for years on my MacBook and generally it works, but I did have a few problems in the past. Backup doesn't take very long though, even for my iPad which has a lot of data on it.

Apps can change from update to update. Better to use the update mechanism a developer has, then to shoehorn the old data into the new app.
