I'm updating on my iPad Mini first, to check what apps get killed... or not. Still downloading.

I updated all my devices the other week. Some of my apps had already gotten some iOS 9 optimizations a good while ago. Yesterday/Today some got updated with the new split-screen and Spotlight search. Got to say that the new 1Password looks awful. The blue they're using is so harsh.

I haven't run across anything that doesn't work yet.

I am giggling to myself... Stanza is working still, and what it lost in the last couplw of iOS8 iterations, it has regained. Still no Dictionary though, nor access to Settings from the Info icon. The stuff that was important to some is still crashing it. But the basics of layout, general, controls, and look and feel are all working.

Just installing on the mini now.

It seems to be taking a long time to install...

OK, done. If the mini took that long, I imagine my iphone and iPad 2 will take longer, lots more stuff on them.

How many times did you all have to sign in with your apple ID password? I have lost count, this is just ridiculous, and verification now keeps failing.

Just a word of caution here...

I backed up my mini this morning before doing the update. I checked for my last backup and it is saying 'never'.

So you might want to be careful, if things go wrong, you may not have a backup. I didn't have anything on my mini that couldn't be downloaded again if things went wrong with this. I am running a backup now. I do my backups over wifi. This is kind of troubling...So a full backup is now running again because the last one was gone. I checked my iCloud storage using my iPad, and it only shows backups for the iPad and iPhone. Yes, indeed, the mini's backups got deleted.

Be careful!

I had that happen with one of my apps that didn't work on iOS 8 too. Not sure what they changed, but great for us!

The sign in process worked as normal for me... I didn't do the over the air update though, did it through iTunes.

I updated my phone and iPad last night. No problems so far. Happy to have the new keyboard. Well I suppose it's the old one come back actually. Now I can see if I have caps on or not.

Search not a big deal for me. Can't remember the last time I used search on any of my devices.

Split screen looks useful. Better implementation that I expected.

Upgraded and... kinda bummed right now. One of the features I was actually looking forward was transit directions in Apple Maps. I was hoping to finally do away with Google Maps, but alas, it doesn't work with my city.

(****, they only seem to be supporting one city in the entire state of California!)

I'll probably update my 6+ but not sure about the Air or Mini 2, they both came with IOS7.

Is it San Francisco?

Is there a list of what cities are supported anywhere?

Luckily there are free apps available for most major transit systems. I have ones on my iPhone for London, Paris, and Berlin.

Thanks. There are some surprising omissions from that list, such as Paris, which has an extremely large metro system. Hopefully more will be added in the future. In the mean time, there are always apps for them.
