The publisher is listed as Transworld Digital. They are certainly a legitimate publisher. There's no way to fake the publisher's name.

Not so sure about that. Some self-pub authors publishing their backlist have used the original publishers name as the publisher of their self-pubbed edition and gotten away with it in the past. Amazon may have done something to stop that from happening, but I'm not sure.

Would you expect Transworld to publish such a major work with no copyright page?

Looking at my UK edition of the book, it is published by Transworld, and the copyright page is at the end of the book, not the beginning. Are you sure that's not where it is in this edition?

There is no copyright link in the ToC of the sample. When there's a copyright, there a link in the ToC. If the sample has ToC entries beyond the sample, than it's a full ToC.

Hopefully we'll hear from someone who bought this edition. I do notice that the formatting for the Kindle look inside is different between the US & UK versions. You'd think they'd be the same if they were coming from the same publisher as indicated.

There are thousands of books out there with TOC's that don't include a link to copyright info.

Have you checked to see if it's available at other stores? You can't self-publish (AFAIK) at B&N or Kobo.

Not being available in other stores would certainly be extremely unusual for a book from a major publisher. Transworld Digital is an imprint of Random House.

Isn't the Amazon US version DRM-free? I've never seen Transworld Digital (a Random House imprint) selling DRM-free before. That alone would make me very suspicious.

It doesn't appear to be available, in the US, from other stores. You can self-pub at both B&N and Kobo.

Well I saw the book on amazon and got it. After reading this post, I have looked and found no copyrite page in it. Guess I wait and see what amazon does about it.

I do see that the reviews on the kindle edition go back to July the 24th so apparently its been at amazon for a while.
