				Desktop 3.17.7 Discussion

I've received and confirmed a report that Desktop 3.17.7 is being distributed.

This is usually a sign that a firmware release is coming soon. I haven't seen any links yet, and modifying previous links didn't work. Interestingly, the .exe file is 7.5 megabytes smaller than the 3.17.0 .exe. This has happened before, the 3.6.0 .exe went from 130 mb to 49 mb. Last edited by murg; 09-11-2015 at 09:48 PM. |

Not sure in that the external beta group has seen no sign of any builds since 3.17.3

Hoping the new firmware arrives soon and will be less buggy. The latest one is the most problematic firmware I've encountered on my Aura.

It's not Kobo Desktop we're interested in - it's the firmware on the Kobo itself (Settings -> Device Information).

You could use Thread Tools, at the top of the posts, there you can (un)subscribe threads you (don't) like.

There's no need to post "empty" post, just to trigger subscribing to thread you're interested in. It's much easier for all involved, you can choose do you want some additional subscription options triggered (different from default one chosen in your options), other people don't need to look at "empty" posts, thread stays "cleaner", with more interesting content, etc... |

Alan; John intends to start providing info on what is NEW with each release, which is why he has "reserved" a post. See

I'm not sure mobileread enables users to moderate threads if they aren't moderators (and I'm not really sure if there's version of mod that enables that for vB3, I'm sure it exist for vB4, but mobileread is still on vB3).

In that case, he wouldn't be able to edit his own posts at later times. Creating wiki for each firmware is the best way for allowing multiple users colaborate on each thread (i.e. wiki article), that would allow everyone who has something useful to add it (if wiki allows that, it's other question). On the other hand, if I mistaken meaning of "Reserved" post, I apologize. |
