I've noticed that if you get your face close enough to jumping spiders, they'll jump on your nose. Is that intended as a threat gesture, or do they just like noses?

Don't know I'm not a spider expert or anything. I just know that I find *that* perticular jumping spider funny to look at. I would like to have one or two terrarium or something.

That's just cuteness overload. Not something one would normally associate with spiders.

(I wonder if that smile was photoshopped and it should normally be the other way around. I see most of those with a "grumpy" look, and occasionally with a :| one.)

I used to "keep" spiders when I was a kid. No elaborate terrariums, just in large jars. Jumping spiders are fun, but very (very!) small. I also had a wolf spider that was at least large enough to watch from a reasonable distance.

My library must have done a similar upgrade lately. Checked out a book a few weeks ago okay, but I was there a couple of days ago and the library's computers wouldn't recognize my pin. I guess checkouts are still okay, but I can't search the card catalog. I need to do something about that.

Well, that's weird. I can sign in from my home computer fine. Saw this, though:

They are switching mine to the last four digits of my phone number.

I can search the catalog online, but there is no status or location information. I wrote out a large list of potentials and came back with only one of the potentials out of thirty. One is better than none though.

So how long has a patch for Stagefright been around? It seems like forever that I've been checking my LG Volt smartphone for a firmware update. Well, guess what? Today it's finally available for my phone. I guess it wasn't that big a priority for LG.
