We are so close to adding more books to the vote list! I thought that we had until the 5th based on the original post.

Well, the Aussie members among us are well into the 5th already anyway!

Basically it's a full four days from the time I post the thread. The 5th is when I close nominations and start the poll. If I remember (and feel free to remind me if I don't) I'll clarify that sentence starting with the next nomination thread in November.

My fault for not paying attention to the four days. My confusion was because my time zone is to the west of you so the nomination thread ended and the vote started on the 4th for me although it was the 5th for you.

Thanks for pointing it out. I tried to make those sentences as short and simple as possible but I see in doing so for that one it was made true for only most but not all our diverse time zones. On the other side there's also been times where I've posted later in the day on the 1st(/5th) which made it actually the 2nd and 6th for Australia. Since I don't always manage to post at the exact same time it's not feasible to list a time in different time zones so the best bet is just to know it's about four full days long from the first post, which I'll try to remember to make clearer next time.

No worries! We appreciate your leadership of the club and the time it takes to keep us all organized.

I wish more of the books had made it to the vote. I think it was a good nomination list, and I am adding several to my future reading consideration.

To be honest, now that I'm thinking about it I think another part of the reason I left that sentence slightly vague was because not only do I not always post the nominations thread at the exact same time but I also don't always manage to close the nominations exactly four days later. I'll hardly ever close them early (I think there was one case where everything was perfectly fully nominated so I closed them slightly before time) but there are times I won't get back on at the same time and so they close late.

Same goes for me too.

The timing thing must be tricky to sort out as we are all over the place. I suppose one way would be to say it closes at midnight GMT+1 of whichever date, as that is the time shown at the bottom of the screen, at any rate here.

Bookpossum, you may already know this already but you can change the time zone showing. It's under User CP and then Edit Options.

Thanks for that sun surfer. I did come across that somewhere, but decided it was actually more useful to have a time zone in common with others than my own time - especially as the computer tells me the time up at the top of the screen!
