I just tried downloading a book with enhanced typesetting on K4PC 1.12.2. I got an AZW, not KFX.

It is my mistake. I was looking around in the K4PC's install directory and found a KRX directory. I mistook that for the new format.

Because, when I choose font options in a book, Bookerly and Georgia appear.

Hm, OK... I can only change font size, line width, and colors, as far as I can see, in version 1.11.2.

Also, I'm getting confused regarding Alf's tools. I see version 6.3.3 on the blog. Is that the latest one now? The last one I remember downloading is 6.2.1. Am I really THAT far behind the curve? It seems I'm getting old already.

edit: 6.3.3 installed fine, and it seems my version of Obok was also really outdated (tough I never used it, because I always use ADE/DeDRM). It looks like Obok has been included in Alf for some time as well.

Definitely getting old...

I also only see 'font size, line width, and colors', using 1.12.2 (40996).

Also, something weird - I do not have checked 'Auto install updates' and yet when I opened K4PC just now it auto updated to 1.12.2 ...... yucko!!!

@katsunami, obok doesn't work with kobo Desktop for PC v 17. An update to the tools is on the way, but if you want to fix it for yourself then refer to Anonymous' posts.

Yes, I do have an example. Didn't want to get too far off topic with my initial post. It is not free unfortunately - well it was free for me - got it last month as Kindle First - it is however in KU, so free for anyone that does have KU. Book is The Einstein Prophecy. It does download with new typesetting on Voyage - removed old version of it and redownloaded after I updated my Voyage. On K4PC 1.12.2 it does download as AZW3 (with extension .AZW as they usually do in K4PC).

Made a screenshot of it in K4PC - as you can see no hyphenation or anything else (original with DRM on right). The version on the left got run through the Hyphenate plugin in calibre - just to test for my pleasure if K4PC does support soft-hyphens in AZW3 (it does as you can see).

same here - same version - my K for PC update also sneaked on silently without asking! ( last update 5 august I see - I think that was just after i did the w10 upgrade though it may have been just before)

maybe because I have no very new books, I am not seeing the bookerly font option ( when I open books already in my collection) ?

but if bookerly IS on the PC now, should I be seeing it in windows fonts ?....opening a new word doc... yes I have bookerly as a font option in word & I don't think I ever put it onto this PC manually.

re the K for PC "silent updates" - how can they do this , if UAC is enabled - surely I should see an install request ?
can it happen only if program is opened ?

Suddenly when I'm having an issue with books purchased in on Amazon showing up on the Kindle screen for reading, but NOT showing up for import into Calibre when the kindle is connected?

I just purchased some this morning and see them on my kindle but when I plug the kindle into the computer and open Calibre, the books do not show for import (even on a search).

Have no idea if this is something to do with Calibre (since I did update that not long ago) or Kindle (since they did a new firmware update recently).

I do have the newest version of Calibre and the new tools.

If you sort the Kindle's "documents" folder by date, recently added books should be at the top of the list.

HOWEVER, do bear in mind that, if you have recently updated the Kindle's firmware, that will have resulted in the device being rebooted, and, as you know, the Kindle's clock is reset after a reboot. You need to turn on Wi-Fi and let the device sync to Amazon's server in order to set the clock correctly.

It happens as of yesterday and it happens on both my Fire and my Voyage.
Its only been happening the last day or two... and when I am looking for a book that is having an issue, those ones show only as kfx on my comptuer.
