I would appreciate a feature that when I select a few books and right-click will offer me to create a plain text book list that I can share by pasting. So the cut-out would look like this (or I could customize it by using the calibre template language):
Per Lagerkvist - Barabbas Tamora Pierce - Song of the Lioness 2 - In the hand of the Goddess That would make it super easy for me to share book lists with people by chat, email etc. (if I want to give someone a wish list, or list of books they might want to read etc.) |

Plugin Idea: Metadata downloader for all media files
Hi everyone - Would it be possible to develop a plugin to download metadata for audio and video files added to Calibre? It would be a great help to those of us who use Calibre to catalog all of our files. Thanks so much

@BR: You dont need to mark books. Simply select them -- as long as you have selected more than a couple create catalog will automatically restrict itself to selected books.

![]() IIRC the books need to be adjacent to do multiple select with keyboard. Hence I invariably use the Mark Book feature, it's more explicit, especially if one is anti-mouse. And the Show Marked Books enables confirmation you have the books you actually want. BR |

Anyone willing to write a custom plugin for me?
I would be willing to pay someone to write a custom plugin (or plugins) to download metadata for my video and audio files that I add to my Calibre library. Please contact me here or by my email. I would like to make the plugin available to all Calibre users if possible.

Is there a plugin or can there be a plugin that will download a file (user specified) from an RSS feed and add it to Calibre, downloading the metadata in the process (if available)
What I am trying to do is to automate getting EPubs from: http://www.beneath-ceaseless-skies.com/issues/feed/ Where the RSS provides a download link to the Epub/mobi/etc. and then dumps it into Calibre (So far the two issues I've manually imported have gotten their metadata c: ) Last edited by Maverynthia; 08-17-2015 at 05:17 PM. I understood your post as saying you want something that finds links to downloadable files. In part at least that's what I understand the Store plugins do. Although I think they are all driven by a Search, whereas you want one that's driven by an RSS feed. Some of the Store PIs use public domain sources - i.e. free. If the text as displayed on the site pages : example - is complete i.e. its not just an extract from a larger work, then screen scraping via News may well be a better alternative. If somebody wrote it, pardon.
I wish to use regex anywhere for anything (rename by matrix, and so on) and placeholders. A very good example: german program "Mp3tag" for mass redacting/organizing music files' tags. For example: I want to rename those books, that have series name and numbers, and is important to read them in this order in way: title will "series No. title". Now I can do this in Calibre with about 4-5 steps, 20-30 clicks, 1 minute; of course, with big chance of error. The same task in Mp3tag I can do (using saved, simple enough actions) with 2 click, ~3 seconds. Last edited by laji; 09-03-2015 at 07:45 PM. |
