While the main reason for the release of 3.17.3 is to solve the problem with sickel causing a reboot when processing some PDF files, there are some other changes. So, from my notes:

PDFs no longer cause a sickel triggered restart. Apparently sickel has been neutered.
Fix to remember page correctly when reading a kepub and powering off.
Changes in how sync is done. This will be much faster but mainly by doing some things at other times. The noticeable on is that dictionaries are synced when you change the list rather than waiting for a sync.
Changes in the shop. I don't use it on the device so I don't really know what they are.

There are no changes that affect calibre. I will bump to the supported version number tonight for the next calibre release.

Apparently the "pinch to zoom" bug is still present in the Aura. It's impossible to turn the feature off even when the option is disabled in the settings. Looks like I'll be downgrading to 3.12.1 again. That seems to be the most bug free release for the Aura to date.

Everyone turns pages, so why isn't faster page turns (single pages) their #1 priority? Faster page turns would make the device feel so much better. (epub)

We rebooted her Aura, the same issue. Checked the database, no errors, re-indexed, vacuumed and still no joy. We placed the book on my H2O. The same issue was still present. I suspect it is related to the Adobe page-map information in the epub as I noticed the page-map.xml file when I opened the epub with 7Zip. I'm considering removing the DRM, removing the page-map stuff (file and anchor tags) and then testing the ebook again but not a high priority at this time. Of course, since the epub is being read on RMSDK -- it should understand page-map.

The high priority at this time is finding out why about 25% of the calls on our brand new VoIP phone system have 1-way audio. I hate erratic problems with a passion.

Personally I've never had an issue with the time it takes for page turns with epubs on my H2O. Just how fast do you need them to be?

Could you explain what the "Pinch to Zoom" bug is please. I don't have an Aura but if you can describe the issue will make sure it's passed on to the devs.

Hi everybody.
First of all, sorry for my bad english, I'm italian.

I must report an annoying bug that was in 3.17 release, AND that is still present in 3.17.3
When I connect my glo hd to wall socket to charge it, it does't go to sleep, neither closing its sleep-cover, nor pressing the button on the top. I have to put the kobo in sleep mode BEFORE connecting it to the socket. This does't happen when i connect the kobo to the pc: in this case sleep mode works perfectly.

Anyone else noticed this bug?

Wall socket? Was that supplied with your Glo HD?

I didn't get one of those with my Glo HD, and I suspect that if you didn't either, you'd be advised not to use one, as the output current may be too high for the battery.

It's not supplied with kobo devices, but charges them without problems. Btw the use of a wall adapter is expected by Kobo.
But with the 3.17 firmware this doesn't let kobo go in sleep mode. It worked with 3.16, 3.15, other kobo products and cells. I'm pretty sure it's a software issue.

@namenick: I vaguely recall can't being able to put my H2O to sleep (via the power button, at least) either since 3.17, *even* when connected to a computer.
