In that case, my sarcastic reply was justified. There were dozens of complaints about the contest on their facebook page and I'm sure they got many more emails. Asking each individual which question(s) they had problems with would be unnecessary if they actually read the facebook posts and their email complaints!

I'm more annoyed because so far Kobo has not acknowledged any problems - they continue to suggest it is all browser related.

A word of possible warning--I had a couple of decent coupons this round and I noticed when I went to use the second one--I had already "tested" it earlier and when I went to use it, it said it couldn't be applied. Another code (lower value that I hadn't bothered testing) still worked just fine.

It's possible that "testing" the codes is causing them to be "used." If there's another contest, I think I'll just use the codes rather than test them.

I initially tried testing a code, when I was new to all of this, and found that it 'used' the code so that it would no longer work.

Ah, good to know. I have tested them in the past and I swear I used them later. But I know I did this time because people were saying the higher codes didn't work. So, OF COURSE, I tested the higher code...rats! Anyway, it might be something to put in the first post? Don't test the codes as it "uses" them?

I have definitely tested tons of codes in the past and used them at a later date. This sounds like a change in my eperience.

Testing the codes does not null them in my experience either recently or in the past. If the code works when you 'test' it and then doesn't at another time then, if it's a Contest code, it's because of the Contest stuff up.

My very recent experience of testing a non Contest 90% code did not cause that code not to work at a later time.

I thought I had too, but I'm not going to do that from now on, not with a good code because I know that the 45 percent code I had showed as working...and codes are still working because I tried a lesser code and the 45 I never used does not work anymore.

I can't recall the code, but it was definitely one I picked up on this thread (a big one), and then at the last minute I backed out and cancelled the order. I went back in and tried it and it didn't work.

......However, it just now occurs to me, as I write this, that perhaps someone took this same code and used it while I was in the process of changing my mind.

All the contest codes stopped working on the 15th ...a week after the contest was supposed to end.

I haven't had any trouble testing codes and using them later. But I suspect that the overwhelmed contest servers sometimes give out duplicate codes. So in between your test and when you use it, another person may have received and used it.

Mine was my own code. I did not use it--I backed out and then tried to use it on the same book, different day. No one else had it unless they duplicated codes. I think it happened to me once before with a code someone gave me in PM--they said they had tested it and it worked, but it didn't work for me.

It might be that they are implementing something to retire the codes after they are entered and accepted. Either way, I don't think I'll test mine anymore.

I didn't test them all. I used two of the codes I had and they worked but I wasn't going to use these so I posted them for anyone who needed them.
