Multiple Clip Bars?

Hi,

As discussed in this thread, I was wondering what the possibilities were of allowing multiple Clips bars to be viewed/hidden? Being able to set up a bar for working on Song Books, then hide that bar and show the bar for working with images/SVG, then hide that bar and view the default bar.... Or have the default bar viewed while adding/hiding other bars.

Seems like it would significantly enhance the Clips bar functionality - which is limited in how many clips it displays by screen width.

What say you?

I would say if you have a lot of clips, then consider using the clips panel. I don't think it is limited by screen size etc.

It is a collapsible tree that is ideally suited to grouping and hiding thereof - I have it docked in the default location under the file browser on the left.

Clips can be in nested in labeled Groups (like folders)
Only the ungrouped clips show on the clips toolbar
All Clips can be accessed by a right click

All that is missing is Context sensitive (clips menu) filtering: All, CSS, Text

I have many CSS clips that are not needed while editing a file in the Text section (and the flip side).

I see how that works with the tree thing. I hadn't seen that before because I have Clips along the top of the screen - too much other stuff along the sides (Book Browser/ToC/Preview). It's usable, but I think having a bar across the top that I can see all the options at one time is more useful...less scrolling back and forth.

Aaah, so that's why I don't see any when I show the clip bar - all my clips are grouped.

I've never liked button bars. Popup ribbons are better 'cos you can see the one-finger kb shortcuts (if the ribbon is properly designed).

Actually it only shows the first 20 ungrouped clips. I have plenty of space on the bar, but it cut off the 21st clip.
