I am 50% of the way to my goal, 8 books behind schedule (according to Goodreads) and I have read 17 fewer books this year than I did last year at this point.

I think I'll get caught up (somewhat) by the end of the year (or at least not be quite so far behind.) At the end of June and the end of July, I had a couple of week-long trips with each of my older kids and those were weeks I didn't do any reading at all and I will be reading more in the next month or so to make up for it.

I had the modest target of 1 book a week for 2015, as I didn't want to pressurise myself into speeding through books just to get them finished, which has happened in the past when I had a 100 book goal. However, I am now 25 books ahead of schedule, according to GR (55 books read). This does include a couple of short stories, and quite a few "shortish" books (the Hamish Macbeth series tend to be sub-300 pages each, and I've read 13 in the series this year).

I'm glad not to feel pressured, but maybe could have stayed with 100 book goal, as I'm easily going to make it, I think. Never suffered a reading slump, though I sometimes get distracted by video games...

Is it too late to change my goals around? I am at 92% of the original challenge of reading 100 books in a calendar year. I am expecting to reach that goal post by the end of August.

Absolutely. Although I'd be tempted to just write this year down as 'exceeded my goals wonderfully' and set a slightly higher goal for next year.

I have exceeded one of my goals but I am no where near my original goals and probably will not make it, of course I said that last year and I did make my goals.

I finished two books yesterday and am now only 7 books behind schedule (according to Goodreads). LOL I have two books that I'm reluctantly reading, two books that I'm racing through and about 14 hours left on an audio book.

I'm about halfway through one of the books I am reluctantly reading and am trying to finish it so I can be done with it. It is not a bad book, just not my genre, so I'm going to stick with it (and expand my experiences) and then not read any more of the series.

How do you include re-reads as part of your Goodreads challenge? I want to re-read The Blade Itself before the two following books in the trilogy, but can't work out how to add it to my 2015 books. Any tips?

Hrm... I am two books shy of my original goal; and it's only August.

I may push it out to a round 100 books for the year.

I think all you'd need to do is edit the book and change the date read to this year.

But then does that remove it from the year you first read it?

To re read you have to add another edition of the book.
You can't change the date. You would invalidate the original read date that way.

I simply add it to my current list making a note of the re-read status. I typically do not re-read books so the issue has not come up a lot.
